Creative Reflective Practice Sessions

We are hosting Creative Reflective Practice Sessions facilitated by visual artist and facilitator and creative producer and coach, Tom Bevan. These pilot sessions will be free of charge. Celeste and Tom have recently taken part in the Wales Arts Health and Wellbeing Network’s Creative Reflective Practice facilitator training.

There are ten spaces available and will be offered on a first come first serve basis.

Gweithdy // Workshop: Aqsa Arif
Weaving Our Histories Through Fabric

This workshop will explore the art of ropemaking by weaving our shared histories and personal identities through fabric. Free. Everyone is invited! // Bydd y gweithdy hwn yn archwilio’r grefft o wneud rhaffau trwy blethu ein hanesion a’n hunaniaethau personol a rennir trwy ffabrig. Am ddim. Mae croeso i bawb!

We will work with different fabric lengths, learning knotting techniques and sewing embellishments to reflect the multiplicity of our individual identities. Participants are encouraged to bring a piece of fabric that holds personal or cultural significance. // Byddwn yn gweithio gyda ffabrigau o wahanol hyd, gan ddysgu technegau clymau a gwnïo addurniadau i adlewyrchu lluosogrwydd ein hunaniaeth unigol. Rydym yn partneru gydag ar gyfer noson ffilm ar hap. A oes gennych chi ffilm artist rydych chi am ei dangos? Cyflwynwch deitl y ffilm a’ch enw i [email protected] erbyn 29/08/24, 11.59pm. Bydd pob cyflwyniad yn cael ei roi mewn het (ie, rydyn ni’n mynd i’w wneud yn y ffordd hen ffasiwn) a byddwn yn dewis tair ffilm i‘w dangos. Bydd pob artist sy’n cael ei ddewis yn cael ffi o £90 ac yn cael ei wahodd i sgwrsio am ei ffilm gyda Gwaith a’r gynulleidfa.

Byddwn yn ffrydio yn fyw ar dudalen Instagram Gwaith ar 30/08/24 am 6pm, er mwyn cyhoeddi’r tair ffilm a ddewiswyd

Mae Gwaith yn blatfform beirniadol/cymdeithasol i artistiaid, lle maen nhw’n gallu rhannu a thrafod eu gwaith, fel arfer gyda digwyddiad cymdeithasu wedyn.

We are partnering up with for a potluck film night. Do you have an artist film you want to show? Submit the title of the film and your name to [email protected] by 29/08/24, 11:59pm, all submissions will be added to a hat (yes we are going to do it the old fashioned way) and we will draw three films to show. Each artist picked will receive a £90 fee and will be invited to chat about their film with Gwaith and the audience.

We will go live on the Gwaith instagram on 30/08/24 at 18.00, to announce the three films chosen.

Gwaith is a critical/social platform for artists to share and discuss their work, usually with something social afterwards.

Mae g39 yn penodi intern oriel i’n cefnogi yn ystod 2024/25. Wedi’i strwythuro ar gyfer y rheini sydd ar ddechrau eu gyrfa yn y sector celfyddydau gweledol, mae’r rôl yn cynnig hyfforddiant, profiad ymarferol a mewnwelediad i brosesau creadigol a gweithredol g39. Mae interniaeth 2024/25 yn canolbwyntio ar ddatblygu sgiliau, gwybodaeth a chysylltiadau – gan gefnogi uchelgeisiau gyrfa y tu hwnt i’r cyfnod chwe mis.

g39 is appointing a Gallery Intern to support us during 2024/25 . Structured for those in the early stages of a career in the visual arts sector, the role offers training, hands-on experience and insight into the creative and operational processes of g39. The 2024/25 internship focuses on developing skills, knowledge and connections – supporting career ambitions beyond the six month period.

This is a truly open call, one we have proudly pioneered since 2009 and which always results in a wonderful, inclusive and eclectic exhibition, and we’re excited to see what 2024 brings.
