Torfaen NPT had the opportunity to take part in Dementia Friends training today, and it was an eye-opening and incredibly valuable experience. Very often PCSO's are the ones who locate people that are reported missing whilst living with dementia, and return them safe and well back to their loved ones. Gwent Police supports the Herbert Protocol – an important tool designed to protect people living with dementia or other vulnerabilities. Huge Thank you to Jane and Lilly from Alzheimers Society Cymru for your time. 👮 🤝 🧠

Last week, our Dementia Action Week brought people and organisations together to act on dementia. In Swansea, Morgans Hotel lit up blue to shine a light on the campaign, and we’re grateful for their support. A visible reminder that it will take a society to beat dementia.

Here's a few photos from our Dementia Action Week Singing for the Brain session in Pontyclun.

Our group was joined by others in the local community, including Pontyclun Town Council and the LLantristant and District 50+ Forum, who very kindly and generously put on a magnificent buffet for us all in the Community Centre after the singing. Time to socialise and celebrate Dementia Action Week 2026.

A great time was had by all!

This Dementia Action Week, our Ystrad Mynach Singing for the Brain group were delighted to sing at Cardiff Central station. Huge thanks to Transport for Wales staff for all their support in ensuring that our group members had the best experience!



Yn ystod Wythnos Gweithredu ar Ddementia roedd grŵp Singing for the Brain Ystrad Mynach wrth eu boddau yn cael canu yng Ngorsaf Drenau Caerdydd Ganolog. Diolch yn fawr I staff Trafnidiaeth Cymru am eu cymorth I sicrhau bod aelodau o’n grŵp yn cael y profiad gorau posib!
