Mae pobl Cymru bob amser wedi dod at ei gilydd o’u gwirfodd, nid i wneud a***n nac am fod y gyfraith yn dweud bod rhaid iddynt, ond am eu bod eisiau gwneud gwahaniaeth. Ond wrth i’r Dirwasgiad a thlodi daro Cymru’n galed yn y 1930au sylweddolodd pobl nad oedd eu sefydliadau’n barod i fynd i’r afael â’r heriau o’u cwmpas. I wneud mwy o wahaniaeth roedd angen iddynt ddod at ei gilydd, trefnu ac edry
ch ymlaen i baratoi at y dyfodol. Drwy ein grym cyfunol, ac wedi ein hysgogi gan y dyhead a rannwn i wella bywydau pobl, rydym yn galluogi mudiadau gwirfoddol yng Nghymru i wneud mwy o wahaniaeth gyda’n gilydd.

In Wales people have always come together voluntarily, not for money or because the law tells them to, but because they want to make a difference. But when the Depression and poverty hit Wales hard in the 1930s people realised their organisations weren’t ready to meet the challenges around them. To make a bigger difference they needed to come together, organise and look ahead to prepare for the future. That’s why WCVA was formed. And it’s why we exist today. Through our collective power, and driven by our shared ambition to improve people’s lives, we enable voluntary organisations in Wales to make a bigger difference together.
