Join us tomorrow afternoon for sandwiches and a singalong! From 2pm - 3.30pm. All ages welcome (and no signing experience required!)

SINGING FOR FUN!

Always enjoy singing? Or fancy giving it a go but never sung with a group before?
Join Ruth, community choir leader and music for health and wellbeing facilitator, for two fun, FREE community singalong sessions at Splott Community Volunteers this summer.

We’ll be singing Bob Marley, Tina Turner, sea shanties and more, and you don’t need to be a brilliant singer. Just come along and enjoy yourself!

Tuesday 18 August, 2pm - 3.30pm
Tuesday 25 August, 2pm - 3.30pm
FREE sessions, with delicious sandwiches made by our Gill (so you know they'll be good!)

The sessions are supported by 7Steel and are a great chance to find out about signing up for a NEW COMMUNITY CHOIR at SCV.

Come along, have a sing, meet some people and see if a community choir is for you. All welcome!

Talk Sport Splott: A Tea Party celebrating Welsh sporting history

Calling all sports fans aged 55+! Join us at SCV TOMORROW, Friday 21 August, from 1pm to 3pm, for an afternoon of Welsh sporting history, memories, music, food and friendship.

And we have a very special guest, Glen Webbe, who’ll be coming to talk about his rugby career. Glen earned 10 caps in his career, he made his Test debut against Tonga on tour in 1986, but his first home Test came against England in the 1987 Five Nations.

Local musician Francesca will be performing Welsh sporting anthems, and we’re hoping for some talks and demonstrations about Welsh sporting success over the years.

Got a favourite sporting memory? Bring along your memorabilia, photographs or sporting treasures and share them with everyone. Whether you’re a die-hard sports fan or simply have a great story to tell, we’d love you to join the conversation.

There’ll also be a buffet, because obviously you can’t have an SCV tea party without delicious grub!

Most importantly, this event is about bringing older people in our community together and tackling the loneliness and isolation that can come when familiar meeting places, such as pubs and clubs, close their doors.

Come along for the sport, stay for the stories, music, food and good company.

We've had quite a few requests from people 55-60 years old if it's OK for them to attend the Talk Sport Splott event on Friday afternoon, so we've decided to lower the age range on this occasion. Now for people age 55 and over. Don't forget to bring your sporting memorabilia if you have some 👍
