Welcome to your latest BMA LNC newsletter from Cardiff & Vale University Health Board 🩺

At the most recent meeting, your Local Negotiating Committee (LNC) raised key priorities on behalf of the medical workforce:

🔹 Communication – Members highlighted the need for earlier, more meaningful engagement on major changes. While dialogue with management is improving, there’s a clear focus on strengthening two-way communication and partnership working

🔹 Study leave policy – Positive progress is being made towards a fair and transparent policy for consultants and SAS doctors, with a commitment to parity across the health board. Discussions are ongoing

🔹 Fatigue & Facilities Charter – Work continues to improve awareness and access to rest facilities. Suggestions include clearer digital information, better signposting, and making this part of induction for new staff.

Welcome to the latest Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board LNC newsletter 📰

Your Local Negotiating Committee continues to meet regularly with senior management, raising issues that matter to doctors across all sites and grades.

This edition shows the real impact of that work — from contracts and leave policies to facilities, training and wellbeing 💼
But the LNC can only act on what it hears. Your experiences shape our priorities, and your input is essential 🗣️

We’re also looking for new representatives to join the committee. This is a chance to:
* represent colleagues locally 🤝
* raise concerns and drive improvements
* help negotiate better terms for doctors
If you’re interested, or just want to find out more, please get in touch.
A strong LNC depends on active members — and we’d really value your voice.
