🚨 Only 62% of GP contractors plan to remain in their roles in three years' time.
This should be a warning sign for the future of general practice in Wales.

👨‍⚕️ Experienced GPs are vital to local communities. 🏥 Surgeries need stability to continue delivering care. 📈 Patients need access to sustainable services.

We need action to support the GP workforce and make general practice a profession where doctors can build long-term careers.

Over the past week we shared stories from five SAS doctors across Wales:

📣 Dr Michelle Romachney on advocacy and supporting colleagues

Although each story was different, several themes emerged throughout the week:

* SAS is a positive and rewarding career choice
* Leadership exists at every level
* Specialist expertise matters
* Advocacy and representation create change
* SAS doctors deserve recognition for their contribution
* We must continue creating opportunities for the next generation

Thank you to every SAS doctor across Wales for the expertise, leadership, continuity and commitment you bring to patients, colleagues and NHS Wales every day.
