We’re highlighting the Wales Screen Recruitment Survey 2026.

An independent survey led by working freelancers in the Welsh screen sector, gathering real experiences of recruitment, access to work, and career progression.

If you are based in Wales or have worked on a Wales-based production, we encourage you to take part.

The findings will help identify barriers and provide evidence to support a fairer, more transparent screen industry in Wales.

The survey is anonymous, voluntary, and takes just a few minutes to complete.

Closing date: Wednesday 1st July.

Please share with your networks, the more responses that are gathered, the stronger the evidence will be.

CIISA are publishing their three-year strategy.

They are sharing two key developments that matter for everyone working across the sector.

CIISA is now a ‘Prescribed Person’

CIISA has been formally recognised in Parliament as an independent external whistleblowing body for people working in film, TV, music and theatre. People in film, tv, music and theatre will be able to raise concerns with us in confidence, even where NDAs have previously stood in the way, and may be entitled to legal protections under UK whistleblowing law.

CIISA Registration is now open

Any organisation in the creative sector can register with CIISA from a sliding scale from £100 a year, carry the CIISA Registered mark, and demonstrate publicly that they stand with the CIISA Standards. Because committing to safe and inclusive workplaces shows everyone that harmful behaviour has no place in creativity.

Here's what CISSA is working towards over the next three years:
→ Independent Reporting Service - September 2026
→ Data and insight function - later this year
→ Early-intervention services - 2027/28
→ Mediation and arbitration developed specifically for the creative industries

This Mental Health Awareness Week, The Film and TV Charity is asking the screen industry to speak up, honestly.

The 2026 Looking Glass Survey is now live. It’s the UK’s only long-running study tracking mental health across film, TV, and cinema. If you’ve ever felt under pressure, unsupported, exhausted, or even if things are going well, your experience matters.

The survey takes around 10 minutes and is completely anonymous. The more people who take part, the stronger the case that can be made to improve conditions across the industry.
