Cardiff did you know...? Cardiff is home to a world record that might just be the most Welsh sporting achievement of all time.
In 2022, Zohaib Hussain of Zero Plus Fish & Chips in Canton set a Guinness World Record for the fastest time to wrap five portions of chips, completing the challenge in just 40.13 seconds.
That’s five portions wrapped, ready and presumably crying out for salt and vinegar in less time than most of us spend deciding whether we want curry sauce.
Zohaib had around 20 years of experience behind the counter before attempting the record, proving that greatness doesn’t always begin in a stadium. Sometimes it begins next to a deep fat fryer in Canton.
Forget sprint training. Forget altitude camps. Cardiff apparently produces champions through two decades of Friday night chip shop queues.
