She Runs: Cardiff - Mae Hi’n Rhedeg: Caerdydd She Runs: Cardiff is a women only social running group based in Cardiff.

Bit of an impromptu detour on long trail this week as paths were closed to allow proper assessment of damage to trees from the fires. We then went on to find that parts of the mountain were still smoldering.

Lots of things can lead to a route change on trails though and it’s important to respect the advisory and in this case, the sight of smoke still rising from charred ground around us.

We still had an excellent run, taking in stunning forests and views from Caerphilly Mountain, even sighting a lightning strike or two in the distance.

😎Shorter more relaxed trail run😎

An evening of great company and gorgeous skies! We had a lovely trail run around Caerphilly woodlands before heading to Caerphilly mountain trig point right on time for a beautiful sunset - as promised by Caroline! 🌅

Next week is our final Wednesday evening trail run of the summer, come join us! Sign up will be on Spond from Sunday evening.

We enjoyed a nice chatty run around the lake, discussing up and coming events locally and overseas and life in general. Green man was a topic of interest that will be on the list for next year, sounds like a great event.

We realised that lights will be needed pretty soon for evening running.💜🏃‍♀️💜

Thanks to Flo and team for a great event last week, and well done to the 200 participants and our wrist band receivers.

Now looking towards this Sunday August bank holiday. The best way to start the day will be at junior parkrun.
We are aware that our friends at Barry junior parkrun are not able to have their event this sunday, so all are welcome to join us.
We do require at least 20 more volunteers to be able to put the event on.

A lovely Sunday run at Llandaff Fields. While it was sunny, it was slightly cooler (for the first kilometre at least). Chat included upcoming races, and how it’s really normal to include some walking in your runs, particularly if you’ve had a bit of time off.

An extra 5km for some and coffee at Coffee 1 followed. A perfect start to a Sunday.

Another long trail run ticked off tonight, and what an adventure! We had rainbows🌈, angry clouds☁️, some aptly named steep ups ⬆️, some dodgy-as-the-day-is-long downs⬇️ and even some of that weird wet stuff falling from the sky that we haven’t seen for a while! 😂🌧️

We went slightly off-piste a couple of times, but hey, it was all part of the fun!😜🙃

Well done ladies, another one in the bag! 💪🏼💜
