Yesterday formally marked the last day of The Llanrumney Hall Pantry. After more than 5 years and with over 14,000 customers served in that time, we say goodbye to what has been one of the greatest chapters of our charity 👋

We want to say thank you to all our members who shopped with us yesterday and of course to the incredible local business and organisations who helped us go out on a bang – namely, CMB Engineering, blue self storage, St Dyfrigs and Winners Grub. Your generosity and support for this charity has helped us keep our doors open that bit longer and has no doubt made a huge difference to all those who have used this community food facility during the expensive festive period.

Thank you of course to our amazing volunteers as well, who without fail every week, show up early (and often in the cold) to make sure that our members can shop and access this service. The Pantry could never have achieved what it has without your commitment and kindness and our members will certainly miss their weekly chats with you all!

It’s been a fantastic 5 years, 2 months, 1 week and 3 days, but as we say goodbye to The Pantry, Llanrumney Hall Community Trust remains as it has done since 2019 – open and operational, and continuing to provide for the Llanrumney community 💛

It's a bittersweet moment for everyone involved, but one filled with pride, gratitude, and community spirit.
Anyone who wishes to come along today is very welcome — whether to shop, to say hello, or simply to be part of this final chapter with us.

We’d like to say a very special thank you to CMB Engineering for once again supporting the Llanrumney Hall Pantry and for donating a huge amount of food to us this morning - just in time for our Christmas Pantry Day tomorrow 💛

CMB have been one of our biggest and most reliable supporters since day one of opening our doors at The Pantry, and have continued to help us meet the high demand that we see every winter period, with this year marking the sixth Christmas in a row they have donated to our community food provision.

Their continued generosity has helped and will continue to support families throughout the winter, bringing a bit of Christmas joy to those who need it most!

This donation was organised through the Fairwater Community Campus project that CMB/BESL are undertaking, and we are truly grateful for the ongoing support they have shown over the years 🙏

It is with great sadness that we announce the upcoming closure of The Llanrumney Hall Pantry, with the final pantry session taking place on Thursday 18th December 2025. This decision has not been made lightly.
