We have set up this page to help Annie (Wife, mum, grannie and friend to everyone) enjoy the Welsh Coastal Path. Her aim a few months ago was to walk it herself and raise funds for The City Hospice and The Breast centre Llandough. Sadly she is unable to do that now but would still love to enjoy the Welsh Coastal Path and raise some funds. We are hoping all her friends and family will join in and p
ost pictures wherever they are on the Coastal Path to help her achieve this goal. You may not be able to walk it but there are plenty of accessible points to scooter or park the car and enjoy a cuppa (or something stronger!)
Diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2019 and having been given the all clear in November 2019 Annie was determined to give something back to The Breast Centre, Llandough who had given such amazing care and support, pre, during and post op. Her plan was to walk the Coastal Path and raise funds for The Breast Centre, Llandough. Even as we were all forced in to lockdown, in March 2020, her enthusiasm did not dwindle. Lockdown would give her the chance to get fit for the challenge. Walking around the locality she was walking up to 12 miles on some days. Even a slight hiccup in August to have a lump removed from her back was not going to hinder the training. It was a surprise to everyone when this was diagnosed as Triple Negative Breast Cancer but she was fit and determined to continue. On her final training walk at the end of September however her leg gave way and it was consequently diagnosed the cancer had spread. Since then it has taken a liking to mum and has appeared in lots of other places. We have offered to tow Mum around the path �but The City Hospice have advised against this!!
