BOPH (Business Opportunities for the Physically Handicapped) is a registered charity run by two full time and one part time employees and dedicated volunteers, all with one aim, to improve the life of disabled people. BOPH opened on the 27th June 1995, and provides the physically handicapped and those with learning difficulties, on leaving school with a normal working environment, giving them a li

fe comparable to their able bodied peers. This also gives them stability in their lives and the chance to enhance their personal development and maximise their potential whilst affording their carers with much needed respite.

Our latest Castle Point Community Team project has seen one of our members, John Stone, lending a hand at BOPH on Canvey Island this week.

The new garden area is starting to take shape, with tomatoes and runner beans now planted and growing well. Next week, John and the team will be getting some potatoes in the ground too.

We are always happy to support worthwhile community projects across Castle Point. If your group, charity or organisation has a project where a few extra pairs of hands could help, please get in touch.

And if you’d like to join John and help out at BOPH, send us a message and we’ll happily put you in touch. Working together, we can make a real difference in our community.

On behalf of Joan’s family and everyone at BOPH, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the funeral and celebration of Joan’s life.

Your presence, kind words, and support during this difficult time meant so much to the family and to all who knew and loved her.

We are also incredibly grateful for the generous donations made in Joan’s memory. Over £2000 was raised which is truly amazing and very generous. Your kindness will help us continue the work and legacy that Joan was so passionate about through BOPH.

Thank you for keeping Joan and her family in your thoughts. The love and support shown has been truly overwhelming and greatly appreciated.
