Awareness isn’t just something we speak about — it is something we should ACT on.
Earlier this week, our President, Jeremy, donated blood in support of Sickle Cell Awareness Month.
It is something that should really be reflected on, not just specifically in September, as sickle cell is an inherited blood disorder that disproportionately affects people of Black and African-Caribbean heritage throughout the year.
Donating blood can make a real difference to those within our community who are dependent on blood transfusions.
Now that it is Black History Month, we wanted to highlight as a reminder that creating change within our community requires a lot more than conversations — statistically 1 donation is equivalent to 3 adults/six babies which reiterates how beneficial and rewarding it is to be part of this process.
