Our Zest groups have been having lots of fun working with the wonderful participatory artist Nova Marshall on a clay-based creative project.

The groups have been exploring a range of 2D and 3D techniques, experimenting with glazes, transfers, cutters and more.

The best part? Our participants are leading the creative process, deciding what they’d like to make, with some of their finished pieces potentially being sold at craft fairs across Kent this autumn and winter, thanks to our amazing Fundraising Committee!

It’s a lovely opportunity to explore new skills, get creative together and help raise funds to support our work.

We can’t wait to see their finished creations!

We're excited to be joining lots of fantastic local organisations at the Thrive from 55 Marketplace Event on Tuesday 13 October, from 10am to 1pm at Medway Park in Gillingham.

If you're aged 55+ or support someone who is, come along and discover what's happening across Medway to help people stay active, creative, connected and supported.

There'll be local community groups, activities, volunteering opportunities, health and wellbeing advice, live music and much more!

It was great to see everyone back at Dementia Chorus after our short break. This week, Emily introduced a beautiful new choral song, All Will Be Well by Will Todd. The group picked it up brilliantly, and it was wonderful to hear everyone singing together. Our theme for this block is Musical Theatre – so jazz hands at the ready! We revisited our very own version of My Favourite Things, which the group co-wrote earlier in the year. It was lovely to return to something created together and hear everyone bringing it back to life. A joyful start to our new block, we can’t wait to see what the next few weeks bring!

Zest Medway have been working with David Leahy to explore sculpture, inspired by Erwin Wurm and his One Minute Sculptures.

They’ve been having lots of fun exploring how to express themselves, taking it in turns to stand on the ‘Bright Shadow’ plinth — culminating in the Medway Zest Sculpture Exhibition!

As summer is drawing to a close we want to let you know that your favourite Zest groups are returning.

We are pleased to welcome back Zest artist David Leahy! David will be working with Zest Medway and Whitstable for four weeks, beginning this project looking at the everyday objects we interact with, exploring the relationships we have with our surroundings through performance and audio.
