How does your team know everyone got home safe at the end of a shift?

For a lot of community organisations, it's a phone call at 6.30pm — or a quiet worry when it doesn't come.
We built Halo to take that worry off your plate. It's a simple app for people who work alone out in the community: food bank drivers, street pastors, welfare visitors. Workers tap once to say they're okay, and if something goes wrong, one button brings help.

It's not about watching people. It's about noticing when someone doesn't come back.
Built by SarStuff, a UK not-for-profit whose team are active search and rescue volunteers.

We've been quiet for a few months. Here's what we've been building.

TeamSite is getting a full rebuild, with a new mobile app to match. It's how you manage your team's details, training, CPD, events and kit — and it's launching soon.

SarSys Request v2 is close behind. That's the system your tasking agency uses to call your team out. Think police asking for a missing person search, or the NHS needing staff moved in bad weather.

There's also a new SarSys app in trial, with a launch not far off.

We've rebuilt the interface for the team who manage KSTAT, and added a way for organisations outside SarSys to feed into the KSTAT missing person statistics.
The new version 2 of the KSTAT app is live on the app stores too.

Then there's SarStuff Halo. A simpler product for teams who don't need full incident management. They just need to know where their people are, and a quick way to raise the alarm if something goes wrong. Think street pastors, food bank rounds, community wardens.

We've also been prototyping mapping for wildfires and tower block evacuations. Plus a few projects we can't talk about yet.

What's next?

LocateMe will get a refresh. And the one a lot of you have been waiting for — the next version of SarSys CAD, with its own new app will start very soon.

A huge thank you to the College of Policing for delivering an excellent PolSA CPD Conference this week.
It was a fantastic opportunity, allowing us to engage in valuable discussions with colleagues and partners from across the policing community.

We asked teams using CiEM which feature they wouldn't give back. One TRiM practitioner put it best:

"The logging system of how many times a team member has been involved in a potentially TRiM-able incident is utterly invaluable."

Knowing the pattern matters. Welfare conversations land better when you can see what someone's been through.

Joining a rescue team isn't just turning up to training. It's being one phone call away from a job that stays with you.

Most teams have something on paper for what happens after a hard callout. Far fewer have something that runs.

A TRiM check-in isn't an interrogation. It isn't a sign you're not coping. It's a teammate checking that the job didn't follow you home.

If you're new to a team — or thinking of joining one — it's a fair question to ask: what does your team do in the week after a difficult job?

The callout was a fortnight ago. Your phone hasn't rung. Nobody's checked in.

If that's how the days after a hard job feel in your team, you're not alone — and it's not your team failing you. It's the absence of a system.

Most teams mean to do welfare follow-up properly. Most teams don't. Not because they don't care. Because nothing reminded the right person to make the call.

Tag your welfare officer. Or your team lead. Or the person you wish had asked.
