We have hit our first little milestone.
We have 50 followers! Yay!
Now, I'm well aware that many prolific social media users boast thousands of followers.
But Paul's Fun Fund is a relatively new page - so I'm happy to blow our own little trumpet.
Last week I forgot to thank our valued trustee, my partner Alex who always supports me by loading and unloading the car, helping me to set up fundraisers, never complaining. Thank you 'Lex', x
Thanks to our member Jennie, from Norton Canes, for answering my plea for tombola prizes. Any donations gratefully received.
*Please like, share and follow - then maybe we can grow even more.
Love and thanks.

A huge thank you this week to local pubs and clubs who host our collection boxes.
Thanks to their staff and customers I have been able to bank £52.50 from our latest collection.
Many thanks to The Yew Tree and Railway Tavern pubs in Norton Canes; Newhall Farm, Cannock; The Talbot, Heath Hayes; The Trafalgar, Hednesford; The Junction, Chasetown;, The Grangemoor, Burntwood; The Wheatsheaf at Great Wyrley and The Windmill at Gentleshaw.
Particular thanks to whoever was kind enough to place a £10 note in our collection box at the Railway Tavern. x
In addition to our collection boxes I raised a further £20 on Saturday holding a tombola stall at a 'pre-loved sale' at Brownhills Community Centre (The Lamp), minus £10 for the table already paid.
Thank you to my sister Marie for helping on the day and donating items for sale.
Plus, thanks to my partner's mom Anne, from Chasetown, donating the contents of her piggy bank.
The total of all income raised over the last week came to about £80.
Anyone out there who runs a charity knows only too well how difficult it is to make money, so even several small donations really add up and count.
So - I have just about enough prizes to run one more small tombola - then that's it.
If anyone out there has any unwanted gifts/nearly new items/cuddlies/costume jewellery suitable as prizes or to sell, please get in touch.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Wow, wow, wow!
We have just received a massive boost to our funds: £1,285!
How amazing is that?
The money was raised thanks,to my Goddaughter Martine and staff at The Merry Harriers pub, in Hambledon, Surrey, who organised a weekly meat raffle for several weeks in June and July.
Special thanks to Alex, Kelly and David for their part in the weekly raffle.
And what a novel way to raise funds!
This money will go a long way towards providing treats for patients at the Hematology Unit, New Cross Hospital, who are referred to us by staff at the unit.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We are really pleased to have been able to provide another patient treat this week.
A patient requested a zoo day out or a visit to a water park for himself and his family.
Thanks to the generous support we receive we decided to fund both events. Hope the young man and his family have fun. That is all we are about.

A friend asked me how much I thought our charity had raised for patients at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, over the years.
I could only reply 'thousands' but was disappointed in myself that I couldn't give a more accurate figure.
So, this last week I trawled through our records dating back to 2012.
We provide treats/days out for patients undergoing treatment at the Haematology Unit. We have also given a donation to the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) to specifically help with research into the evil and rare type of leukaemia which Paul suffered from.
My research revealed since 2012 we have spent £20,903.61, (which also includes gifts such as a TV and gaming equipment for patients to use at the Unit).
So there you have it, dear friend. That's the amount.
£10,000 of that figure was a donation to the ICR.
And the fundraising continues so we can help more people in need of fun times in the future.
Love and thanks. Jan x

Yet another £120 has been raised for our charity at the weekly meat raffle. If my maths is correct that's a staggering £796 so far.
Like me, many of you may have wondered exactly how the raffle has managed to raise so much money.
It is run by The Merry Harriers pub in Hambledon, Guildford.
My God daughter Martine told the pub about our Fund and management agreed to the fundraiser.
Martine explained how the raffle has operated.
"The draw happens every Saturday about 5.30pm," she said.
"This attracts the local village community and is fun for the hotel guests also.
"The pub buys about 12 pieces of excellent meat from burgers to duck breasts and steaks. Each raffle ticket is £1.
"You can only win one prize so if you get a second draw you can keep your meat or switch for what's being held up.
"This way the prizes are spread out and it makes it more fun."
Martine said about 12 people took home some kind of meat on Saturday.
In the first photo, taken in the pub grounds, Martine is pictured with bartender Toby helping to make the draw; in the second, she is pictured with David, one of the winners.
The raffle has been going on for weeks. The last draw is on July 25.
What a novel way to raise money. Great idea. Thank you and loves.

So grateful for the support our charity receives.
Thank you so much to Jennie from Norton Canes for tombola and raffle donations this week.
Thank you to my son Kev for two bottles of wine for our next raffle.
Now looking to find somewhere local (Cannock or near) where we can hold another tombola/sales table.
If there are any local venues prepared to host a raffle for the Fun Fund I now have plenty of prizes.
Please follow our page if you haven't already. Please like and share.

Hi everyone. Sending happy vibes.
Quite a bit to report this week so bear with me.
Saturday's fundraiser at St John's Church, Walsall Wood, turned out to be a really nice event: lovely people and atmosphere.
Our sales table raised £50 and kind lady Nikkie, from Walsall Wood, donated £10 on top of that.
Thanks to supporters' generosity we had three tables full of things to sell (see pic of just some of the items and tombola prizes).
Our thanks must go to the kind gentleman who paid our stall fee so the £60 was all profit.
Thanks also to my partner Alex for hauling stuff to and from the venue and to my sister Marie for helping on the day and donating items for sale/tombola
Thanks to everyone for your continued donations of items for sale. I have just about enough for another fundraising stall but after that will be pretty wiped out - so my usual plea is let me know if you have anything you could donate. Thank you.
The ongoing Saturday meat raffle at The Merry Harriers pub in Hambledon, Guildford has raised another £120 bringing the total so far to a fantastic £676. The weekly raffle continues until July 25. Thank you to Martine for suggesting our charity and thanks to all involved at the pub. See www.merryharriers.com
That's all for now.
Please like and share.

Come and say hi if you're in the area.
The ongoing weekly meat raffle at The Merry Harriers pub, in Hambledon, Guildford, has raised another £211. That is an astounding £556 so far - and the raffle is still running each Saturday until July 25.
Heartfelt thanks to my God daughter Martine for putting our charity forward and thanks to all involved at the pub. See www.merryharriers.com
Thanks to my sister Marie for helping at the stall tomorrow and for providing more items for the tombola/sales table.
More updates next week. Stay cool. xx
