We’re delivering new food waste caddies to households again this week.

Our weekly household food waste collections will start week commencing 27 April, so we’re making sure everyone has what they need ahead of launch.

You will receive:
♻️ A 23-litre kerbside caddy
♻️ A 7-litre kitchen caddy
♻️ A roll of liners for your kitchen caddy
♻️ An information leaflet with instructions on how to recycle your food waste

⚠️ Please continue to dispose of your food waste in the green bin until this date, as food waste presented in the outdoor caddy will not be collected for recycling before 27 April.

A £115,000 highways project is starting next Monday on the A5190 Lichfield Road, one of Cannock’s busiest routes. Expect disruption as crews close the eastbound carriageway (for those who work on “Never Eat Shredded Wheat”, that’s Miller & Carter up to Tip Island) between Devon Road and Eastern Way.

🛑 Key details:
• Full closure eastbound for around 5 days (weather permitting)
• Some works overnight on 15 January (7pm–6am)
• Diversion routes will be clearly signed
• Residents and emergency services will still have access
Crews will be resurfacing the road, repairing drains, and replacing ironwork. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journeys.

A person has died despite the best efforts of paramedics who were called to a 'medical emergency' in Cannock town centre.
