OUR STRATHGLASS. WHAT NEXT?

Our community aspirations report has been published. Thank you to all who filled in the surveys! It's a fascinating snapshot of what Strathglass residents of all ages think of their community and how it should evolve into the future.

You can review the highlights or download the full report from www.strathglassplan.net

Our next community planning event is on Sunday 6th September from 2pm - 5pm in Cannich Hall so please save the date in your diaries. We'll come together to explore how to bring our community aspirations to life. Everybody welcome!

We are excited to share that SACC has been awarded funding by Soirbheas for a new website build! Our current website is HTML format which is now difficult to edit and is no longer practical.

All going well, we are planning to launch the new site at the end of this year. We will then have a website which we will be able to keep fully updated ourselves going forward.

It would be great to have your most loved photos of Strathglass for the website - naturally we'll credit the owner for any that are selected - see details on the poster below.

Thank you to all our wonderful stallholders - Coconut & Spice Hub , Little Wagtail's Bakery, Carols Cakes and Bakes, Plants Etc., ORD Oak smokehouse, Achpopuli Farm, Loch Ness Honey, Woodland Kitchen Deli and The Keltic Kitchen.

The next Cannich Market is on Sunday 28th June from 11am - 1pm. We're holding it on the 4th Sunday in June so that we don't clash with Father's Day. We hope you can join us then!

SACC will now be running the Cannich Monthly Market. A huge thank you to Kat and Glen Urquhart Farm Cluster for all you've done to make it the much loved local event it is.

The next market is on this Sunday 17th May from 11am - 1pm. There will be 10 stalls with lots of tasty goodies and plants (see poster for details). We'll be running the cafe again to raise funds for the hall so please bring your coins for a cuppa.

We hope to see you there!

If you need any information about the market please email Jeannine at [email protected]

Thank you to everyone who came along to yesterday's event. Great to see what you feel Strathglass needs on a giant map! It was such a lovely atmosphere; really good chats, soup and wonderful music. We hope you all enjoyed it.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make it happen and to the musicians 💚

Please spread the word to neighbours, friends and family to complete the survey before the deadline of Sunday 12th April - we want to ensure everyone's views are gathered.

You can find out more and complete the online survey here: www.strathglassplan.net

Paper copies are available in the shop, Bog Cotton or Cannich Hall. You can drop off completed paper surveys into the box at the shop or donations box in Cannich Hall.

Christmas Lunch.

A special thank you to the Strathglass Community Fund for their generous funding, which made it possible for us all to come together, and to Invercannich Farm and Highland Hog Roast for providing such a lovely meal - Darren, Daniele, Carl and Ann.

We would also like to thank the Strathglass & Affric Community Company, who played a big part in ensuring the lunch could go ahead this year, including providing a welcome drink.

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time, energy and goodwill to help make the day happen — it truly couldn’t have been done without you. Thank you Holly, Maeve, Caroline, Alex and Jeannine for all you help and support.

Thank you to Sarah at Highland Craft Studio for kindly donating her time and skills to make the badges for the gift bag.

Last but not least, a huge thank you to the pupils and staff of Cannich Bridge Primary School for their incredible support. The children made gifts for everyone, along with the crackers and gift bags, and also sang for us. Their kindness, effort and community spirit meant so much.

Sincere thank you to Soirbheas for their kind support, lift-giving and help on the day — it was greatly appreciated - Kara, Lindsay and Sarah.

With thanks and warm wishes,
Karen
