Into that big choir sound? Then here's a couple of excellent upcoming events at Campbeltown Town Hall. Firstly, Kintyre Chorale are holding a sing-a-long concert on Thu 21st May in aid of South Kintyre Development Trust and the Robert Black Memorial Helipad. On Sat 6th June it's the turn of the Upbeats and A'Choired with their concert in aid of the Scottish Air Ambulance. Two brilliant nights for you to look forward to whilst supporting worthy causes. 🎶

As you may well be aware, SKDT is experiencing financial issues and we, the Board, are working with support partners, DTAS and Inspiralba, to identify our options and hold an EGM to allow you, the community, to help us choose the right way forward.

SKDT owns and operates the Town Hall, SKDT Hall and the Robert Black Memorial Helipad on behalf of the local community. These are your community assets and valued services. We are also part of this community and we are motivated to recover, particularly to protect these assets.

We are aiming to hold an EGM week commencing 8th June. This will be for members only.

Anyone who is 16 years and above, who lives in South Kintyre (PA28 Postcode area) as their main residence, is eligible to vote here and supports the SKDT aims and objectives is welcome to become a member.

To give you a chance to check whether or not you are a member or to join now, you can email [email protected] to request an application form or pick one up in the foyer of the Town Hall next time you are in.

For this EGM, we will need to close the membership registrations on Friday 8th May. People can still join as members after this date, but they will not be on the list as a voting member for this EGM.

We are also preparing to recruit for new Directors into the Board. To stand to become a Director at EGM, you must first be a member, therefore anyone who is interested in standing for the Board must become a member by the Friday 8th May

After the Friday 8th May, we will contact everyone on the members list to invite expressions of interest to join the Board. This is open to any Ordinary Member.

We will hold an information evening for those interested in joining the Board with our advisors ahead of the EGM to make sure that everyone who steps forward understands the governance and financial challenges.

In the meantime, please continue to book your events and special occasions in our halls and help us to generate as much income as we can.

Christophe Adie, Chair, SKDT

It is with much regret and sincere apologies that, due to factors outside our control, we have to postpone Saturday night's fundraiser with Neon Heart. Amber and Ben are equally disappointed as they were very kindly donating the gig to help raise much needed funds for The Town Hall. However, they are more than happy to reschedule at a future date. To those of you who have bought tickets, we are truly sorry. Please return them to Campbeltown Town Hall for a full refund.

Hannah’s been off for a couple of weeks but will be returning next week with a long list of jobs to do!
In the meantime, big thanks to her 84 year old old step father for stepping up to help litter pick around the garden and to her mum for helping distribute pumpkins to some of our groups 🎃💚
