Junior Open Competition - Saturday 6th June 2026 - Lussa Loch

A fantastic 29 juniors, ranging in age from 4 to 14, competed in this year's Open. An amazing turnout. ☺️
Despite the cold breeze, the weather stayed dry and everyone had a great day.
A number of brown trout were caught by some of the juniors and 2 of the juniors each caught a rainbow.
Robbie Borthwick won the Open with his cracking 5lb rainbow and Adeline Anderson was runner up with a very impressive 4lb rainbow.
Well done and thank you to all the juniors who took part and also thank you to all the parents/grand parents who accompanied them.
We would like to thank McFadyens Contractors Campbeltown Ltd for their very generous and continued support and sponsorship of this event, Campbeltown Co and Tesco Metro for their very generous supplies of refreshments for the Juniors, they were very much appreciated by us all but especially by the juniors ☺️
Thank you all for making this a great event and we'll see you all next time. 🎣🐟🙂

For the open junior competition please meet at the boat shed for the start.
Also note that dogs are not permitted on club waters.
Worms will be supplied for any of the juniors and also equipment is available for anyone who needs it.

Junior Fly Fishing Competition

Tomorrow, Sunday 24th May 2026, at Auchalochy/Loch Ruan, The junior members of the club will be competing for the Donald Kelly Snr shield for Juniors which has been very generously donated by club member Donald Kelly.
The junior who wins tomorrow will have the honour of being the very first name on this brand new shield.
Thanks very much Donald for your kindness and generosity. We really appreciate it. And good luck to all the juniors tomorrow.
