Historic England is launching its next round of History in the Making funding for eligible youth-led organisations.

Now in its third funding round, History in the Making empowers marginalised young people to discover, engage and connect with stories, memories and heritage in their community. Participants are invited to commemorate history that matters to them in the place they live, from immersive walking tours to artworks, young people use creativity to connect to their place. 95% of participants developed new skills after taking part in the programme, 93% felt more motivated to participate in community activities and 83% increased in confidence.

Youth empowerment is built into the programme throughout. Historic England's panel of Young Advisers help decide who and what we fund.

Organisations can apply for up to ÂŁ15,000 for activity delivered over 18 months. To be eligible you must work with young people aged 13-25 years and be based in an eligible area. You can find out if your area falls into this category here Applications are open from 15th June to 24th July 2026. You can find out more about the scheme and apply here: https://buff.ly/SMtFVDd

Please join us online for the CIC Network meeting next week.

The network is to support small CICs, to link them with their peers and share knowledge and best practice for mission-led organisations.

Monday 22 June
1:00pm - 2:30pm

We have two guests for this session:

Kate Nation is Managing Director of Turtle Dove – a social enterprise that has been supporting young women across Cambridge for ten years (14-24 years) into a work environment with youth work support.

Rebecca White founded Your Own Place CIC in Norwich. She’ll be speaking about how she got out of the chicken and egg phase of being the operational lead without time to generate income, grow the organisation and step back into a more strategic role and ultimately leave a sustainable organisation ten years later.

As part of Volunteers’ Week, CamSight was proud to work alongside Care Network Cambridgeshire, March Armed Forces & Veterans Hub, and Support Cambridgeshire to organise a Collaborative Volunteer Afternoon Tea to thank the wonderful volunteers who give so much to our communities. It was a lovely opportunity to come together, celebrate the difference volunteers make and show how much their time, care and commitment are valued.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the afternoon so special, including Tesco March (Kelly in the Community), Greggs March, Octavius, Greeting Card Shop March, Cassanos Bar & Nightclub, Support Cambridgeshire, March Armed Forces & Veterans Hub, and Maureen and Kathy, local singers from Fenland, for their generous support.
