In 2018, job hunting could be emailing a CV or walking in.
In 2026, it’s portals, uploads, screening questions, and sometimes video interviews.
Work hasn’t changed. Applying for it has.
Rebooted provides secure laptops and learning access so people coming home can move forward.

Rebooted helps people coming home catch up with the world as it is now: digital skills, secure devices, and access to learning so they can rebuild.
If you believe a fresh start should come with the tools to navigate modern life, please donate:

The world doesn’t stand still.
If someone is away for 3 years or 10 they don’t come back to the same everyday life.
In 2018, you could often sort things out in person.
In 2026, so much of life starts with a login: housing, work, healthcare, learning — even staying connected to family.

Rebooted helps people coming home catch up with the world as it is now: digital skills, secure devices, and access to learning so they can rebuild.

If you believe a fresh start should come with the tools to navigate modern life, please like this post and share with like minded colleagues.
And, if you have retired laptops that need a new home, please consider supporting our work by contacting us at [email protected]

Partnerships matter because they turn good intentions into practical support people can use immediately.

Today we collected 10 refurbished laptops kindly donated by Ego Technology. These will go to prison leavers, helping with learning, job applications, and staying connected with family and support networks.

We also love that this partnership aligns so closely with our mission: through their work with HMPPS, Ego Technology provides full-time employment and training within their WEEE breakdown workshops, supporting rehabilitation and skills for resettlement.
A huge thank you to Sam Denham and the team.

If your workplace is replacing laptops, please message us — donated devices can make a real difference [email protected]

There’s a lot in the news right now about antisocial behaviour and youth crime.
But here’s something we don’t say loudly enough:

many young people don’t “just go off the rails.” They’ve been living with disruption, stigma, and instability for years—and one of the biggest hidden drivers is having a parent in prison.

The government has just published a new plan on youth justice and early intervention: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/cutting-youth-crime-changing-young-lives

We know that close to 200,000 children are affected by parental imprisonment—this is a hidden population, but it shouldn’t be invisible, if we don’t support these children, we risk them becoming the next headline.

If we do support them, we give them a real chance to learn, grow, and build a different future.
That’s why Rebooted provides laptops and learning access to prison leavers and families—so people aren’t locked out of education, opportunity, and connection.
If you can donate a laptop, sponsor a device, or help us reach organisations with unused tech, please message us [email protected]

In 2024–25, 55,105 adults in the prison system participated in education courses, and 49,135 qualifications were achieved.
Learning in prison matters — but what matters just as much is what happens after release.

Providers like Coracle support learning inside prison with in‑cell laptop eLearning. At Rebooted, we help ensure that learning can continue on the outside, with devices and access to education that supports a fresh start.
Want to help? If you can donate a laptop, fund a device, or connect us with a business upgrading its IT, please message us.

We’re proud to share that James Tweed (founder of Rebooted) ran the London Marathon yesterday.
Marathon training takes real commitment — and James also turned that effort into impact, raising donations to support Rebooted’s work.
Massive congratulations, James, and huge thanks to everyone who backed the fundraiser - see James page here: https://2026tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/james-tweed

This is exactly where partnerships like Coracle + Rebooted matter.

Coracle helps people in prison access learning and education opportunities now — and Rebooted ensures they can continue seamlessly once released, with a secure laptop and support to keep studying, build digital skills, and apply for work.
If your business has end-of-life laptops to donate (or you’d like to fund more devices), please message us.
