We Had a great session on Saturday.

The kids started with building some bug hotels out of bits from around the allotment , With help from Emily and I for the heavy lifting.

We then finished off the day making a basic willow fence for our strawberries.

We would like to introduce the Burwell Junior Allotment Club, AKA The Cucumber Crew! The Cucumber Crew, a name owing to one year's harvest of over 130 cucumbers, is a group for children to learn how to grow their own food, care for the natural world and have a say in what we do in sessions. This connection to where our food comes from is so important and certainly encouraged here!

The club is run completely free of charge for 6 to 13-year-olds, Founded by Josh when he joined the Burwell and District Horticultural Society and wanted to engage young people in the great space we have available at Burwell Allotments. Noah joined him as a young leader and we have our other club leader, Emily.

We hope to share a bit of what we do, advertise events or any veg we have available for donations and if nothing else, spread a bit of happiness!
