Meet Eleanor - one of the Jimmy's Joggers running the Cambridge Half Marathon in 2027 in memory of her mum, raising money for Jimmy's. 💜

When we asked Eleanor why she was running, she told us:

"I am running for Jimmy's in memory of my mother, Janet Toye, who had a huge heart for homeless people. After moving to Cambridge, she volunteered with the Cambridge Churches Homelessness Project. She died in 2025 and left the majority of her estate to Jimmy's. I'm running for Jimmy's to build on her legacy and raise even more money to help them create a fantastic new centre in Cambridge."

Eleanor - among many others - will be wearing her Jimmy's Jogger shirt in support of Jimmy's and the work we do.

🗨️"We're no different from anyone else...I just don't like being looked down on."

When we asked members of our team and residents the one thing they wish people knew or understood about homelessness - this was the answer from one of our residents.

Today is World Homeless Day, but for our team and the people we support - it's every day. We help people take vital steps from Street Floor to Front Door, in whatever form that takes. We meet people where they are, without judgement and always with hope. 💜

If you want to support, today or on any day, start with kindness. See the person, not the circumstance.

I had the honour of hosting Jimmy's Cambridge’s Gala Dinner last week in the Great Hall of my university college King's College!

It meant a lot to host the night and find a careful balance between ensuring the evening was fun and entertaining, whilst also highlighting, and fundraising for, the vital work Jimmy’s do to support Cambridge’s most vulnerable people.

And what a venue to do it in!

Last Wednesday, we welcomed a room full of people in the iconic dining hall at King's College for our Gala Dinner! ✨

There was magic in the air (and not just from our magician 🪄). It was such a joy to spend the evening with so many people who care about this city and the people in it as much as we do. 💜

A huge thank you to our Gold Sponsor OpenArch, our brilliant speakers Hannah and Matt, and our fantastic MC Greg Foot. And thank you to everyone who chose to spend their evening with us.

There was a particular moment from the evening that truly stood out - when Matt shared his deeply personal story of lived experience, where the room erupted in applause. It was a beautiful moment, and a reminder that behind every number is a person, and that when a community comes together, real change happens. For every person who comes through our doors, there is hope and opportunity. 💜

Stay tuned for future events and ways to get involved and support Jimmy's, as we continue supporting people sleeping rough in Cambridge on their journey from Street Floor to Front Door.

What a lovely morning we had last week! ✨

The team from Insmed International spent their morning putting together winter care packages for our residents, complete with biscuits, hand-warmers, coffee, and a handwritten note.

Our Corporate & Communities Fundraiser, Amaya was there too, chatting with the team and answering all their questions about the work we do here at Jimmy's.

It was organised through Employee Volunteering, and it was so heartwarming watching such an engaged team writing such lovely notes for our residents - little messages that say "someone out there is thinking of you" and "we care." Those small gestures mean so much.

These packs will be handed out to our residents over the winter months, and we know they'll make a real difference on a cold day.

A huge thank you to the Insmed team for giving up your morning for our community - we're so grateful to have you on our side. 💜
