The Cambridge University Engineering Society (CUES) was founded in 1901 and is today one of the most active and largest academic societies in Cambridge with over 1300 members. Membership of CUES is open to all current Cambridge students with an interest in engineering and STEM-related activities. Our mission is to deliver the best opportunities for technical enrichment and increasing employability

. We do this by making strong links with industry from industry-leading companies to the fastest growing startups. We use our network to then provide an outstanding calendar of events, ranging from presentations and site visits to skills and social events. 🌍✈️ ANNOUNCEMENT: CUES INTERNATIONAL TRIP 2025 ✈️🌍

🚨 For the first time in over five years, CUES is bringing back its legendary, heavily subsidised international trip for members! This is your chance to explore the world with 30 fellow engineers, discover cutting-edge technology, and make unforgettable memories. This is a members-only trip, so sign-up for CUES membership fast if you want to attend! 🌟

📍 Destination: Hamburg, Germany
🗓️ When: Sunday, 23rd March – Wednesday, 26th March 2025 (Week 9 of Lent term)

Get ready for a packed itinerary combining engineering marvels, cultural experiences, and great vibes:
1️⃣ Airbus Factory Tour – Witness aviation innovation and manufacturing up close.
2️⃣ DESY Particle Accelerator – Explore the frontiers of particle physics.
3️⃣ Harbour Boat Trip – Explore Hamburg and Europe's fourth busiest port from the water.
4️⃣ Miniatur Wunderland – Marvel at the world's longest model railway at 15.7km.

💸 Costs:
👉 Just £10 for a shared 8-bed dorm or £70 to stay in a private CUES-only 4-bed room! This price **includes all four main activities and accommodation**.
👉 Flights are not included (approx £80 return) - we will be recommending what flights to book after sign-ups.
👉 There is an option to attend a classical music concert at the Elbphilharmonie on the last night. Tickets will likely be between 10 and 30 euro and we will be distributing a form after trip sign-ups are confirmed.

A sign-up form will be distributed at 8am on Wednesday 27th November to CUES members. The link will be available on Linktree. Places will be allocated on a first come-first serve basis. Please note you must be a member to sign-up for the trip. If you are not a member, membership costs £15 and gives you access to the heavily subsidised annual dinner, among other benefits. Join five companies from the electrical engineering sector at this exciting new evening event at 6:30pm this Thursday, 24th October in Constance Tipper! Whether you’re seeking a job or simply want to learn more about the sector, take this opportunity to explore different companies, find out what they’re working on, and network with industry professionals.

Each company will present for 15 minutes in Constance Tipper. There will then be the chance to network with attendees over canapés and refreshments in LR4.

TTP is a technology consultancy that brings together engineers and scientists to solve some of the world’s hardest problems. From brainstorming solutions to client problems to product research, prototype and development we cover the whole product development cycle. This session will give you the opportunity to meet one of our consultants and hear more about the work we do here at TTP in some detail as well as find out more about our application process.
