🧡We had such a lovely time on Saturday at our latest DCR Registrants Panel/ DCUK London gathering. It’s been a hard six months for DCUK and we were so glad to be back in the room at The Foundling Museum a place steeped in the history of children, identity and the evolving meaning of family.
💙While our experiences are different, it feels powerful to gather in a space that holds so many stories about belonging, record keeping and the lifelong impact of early decisions.
🧡We really have come a long way in the last few years and we wouldn’t be anywhere without this wonderful community so whether you’ve been supporting fellow DCPs and the wider community for years or whether this was your first meeting. Thank you for showing up for yourselves and each other.
🧡Huge thank you to Nick for sharing his journey with everyone I also hope this can be the first of many opportunities for different voices from our community to be heard as no two donor conception stories are the same.
💙There can also be something powerful and potentially healing in being able to speak your own story aloud and have it witnessed by others.
🧡 We also shared some headlines of the inaugural DCUK Community Survey, we’re so grateful that so many of you took the time to contribute to that- more to come on that once we’ve delved through all the data!
