2 weeks to go!!! Not long now until the CDS Autumn Exhibition opens at the Pitt Building in Cambridge. Our artists have completed their submissions of artwork and are now busy doing final framing and labelling in preparation for handing-in day. It’s so exciting to see what amazing work everyone has been producing, so do plan your visit. We’ll be open from 10am to 4pm every day from Sunday 25th October until Saturday 31st October. Admission is free and most work is for sale, so make sure not to miss it.

3 weeks to go! Yes the opening of the CDS Autumn Exhibition is getting closer! The entries are coming in and our artists are getting ready, so you won’t want to miss seeing an amazing mix of original artwork - paintings, prints, sculpture and of course, drawing. There will be framed artwork to see, unframed work in the browsers and a huge range of greetings cards and almost everything will be for sale.
We’re back at the Pitt Building in Cambridge from the 25th to the 31st October from 10am to 4pm every day. Admission and inspiration is free so get the dates in your diary and we look forward to showing you what we’ve been doing.

Congratulations to CDS members Giulia Quaresima Artist & Patrick Wilkins who are among the artists shortlisted for the British Art Prize 2026. Their drawings Keeper of Memories & Tim (version2) will be exhibited along with the other shortlisted works at the OXO Gallery in the Oxo Tower, London, SE1 9PH from 21st to 25th October.

Voting is now open for the People’s Choice Award online (see link below) and both would love your support! Voting closes on 9th October.

The British Art Prize celebrates artists working across various mediums, including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, and mixed media.

CDS Members Caroline Furlong, Surinder Beerh and Sarah Hutchinson will be taking part in an exhibition by Ouse Valley Artists at Houghton Scout Hut, PE28 2JH on the 3rd and 4th October. There will be original paintings, prints & pottery for sale as well as teas, coffees and cakes so why not drop in if you’re nearby this weekend?

CDS Member Gail Hoban is one of three artists exhibiting at Halesworth Gallery, Suffolk throughout October. The exhibition is all about nature and land access with the theme ‘Who owns the land?’

The exhibition is at Halesworth Gallery, Steeple End, Halesworth, Suffolk IP19 8LL (Opposite St. Mary’s Church on 1st floor - steep steps to access), and runs from 3rd – 29th October (extended from graphic date for the Gallery’s 60th anniversary)
Mondays – Saturdays 11am – 4pm, Sundays 2-4pm.

Come along to the Opening Party: Friday 2nd October 6pm – 8pm - everyone’s welcome.

Gail will also be running a live drawing event on Sunday 24th October 2-4pm.

Whittlesford Creatives Open Studio is coming up this weekend and CDS Members Susan Abbs and Vandy Massey will be among those exhibiting.

Find them at: 19 Church Close, Whittlesford, CB22 4NY on the 3rd and 4th October between 11am to 5pm

CDS Member Willie Wilson is also exhibiting in Whittlesford at studio 1, opposite The Tickell Arms 3/4th October 11-4pm.

There will also be other studios open to visits in Whittlesford that weekend, so why not make a day of it?

Many congratulations to CDS Member Sarah Hutchinson who will be one of the artists taking part in the Society of Wildlife Artists’ Annual Exhibition: The Natural Eye – an exhibition of fine art inspired by the natural world. The Exhibition runs from 1 to 10 October at the Mall Galleries, SW1Y 5AS (open 10am to 5pm).

Four Ways of Seeing presents Stillness and Strength, an exciting new exhibition exploring shared themes and celebrating creative diversity through four distinct and dynamic artistic voices including work by CDS members Sue Law & Jill Ogilvy.

Open on 26 and 27 September 10am – 5pm

Sue Law and Jill Ogilvy are members of Four Ways of Seeing, a collective of four professional artists, with Judy Logan, and Deanna Tyson making up the four. The group has a wealth of experience between them, each having exhibited their work both nationally and internationally for many years. Their disciplines cover sculpture, paint, print and textiles which allows them to respond creatively to a theme from each of their individual perspectives. Small monotone sculptures by Sue Law nestle amongst Judy Logan’s striking goddesses and ominously still, ink black crows, whilst Jill Ogilvy’s calm domestic still life compositions and evocative landscapes contrast with the provocatively strong icons and omens presented by Deanna Tyson.

This exhibition brings together each of the group’s four distinct visual voices, united by common threads of inspiration, yet each pursued in radically different ways. Having spent recent months exhibiting independently across the country in exciting and prestigious exhibitions, the four artists are pleased to bring their work together again for their home audience. Visitors are warmly invited to attend the Preview and over the weekend to see the full body of work on display. They look forward to welcoming you!

Royston Arts Society’s 2026 Autumn Exhibition will take place from 25 – 27 September as part of the Royston Arts Festival. The exhibition will be held at Royston Town Hall, SG8 7DA with a Preview evening will be on Friday 25 September from 7.30 to 9.30pm. Many members of CDS will be taking part in this exhibition.

The Exhibition features affordable art by over 50 local artists – with more than 350 framed and unframed paintings on display, along with cards, all of which are for sale.

Friday 25 Sept: 7.30 – 9.30pm
Saturday 26 Sept: 10.00am – 5.00pm
