Our first themed issue “Borders” is live now on our website, https://centralasiaforum.org/issues/borders/ !

If you want to read more about linguistic divides in Bukhara, accessibility in Central Asia, potential arenas of economic conflict, whether Britain has a role to play in the region, and much more, go check out the Issues page on our website.

We are incredibly proud of all the work that has gone into these articles and we are excited to see the platform growing, with contributions from universities in the UK, USA, and mainland Europe!

Make sure you check out the articles and let us know what you think. Thanks again to everyone who was involved in making this happen!

The Central Asia Forum (CAF) is relaunching its activity under a new committee based at the University of Cambridge!

Building on the legacy of the UK’s first student-run conference on Central Asian affairs in 2018, we are creating a multi-disciplinary platform to spotlight Central Asian politics, culture, art, and so much more.

With immense geopolitical, historical, and environmental importance, Central Asia has gone understudied for too long. Beyond its strategic significance (which need not be understated as a region nestled between Russia, China, and Taliban-controlled Afghanistan) Central Asia is also a fascinating region in its own right.

From China's BRI and Russian influence, to environmental policy and spotlighting local NGOs' work, whilst also covering art, culture, and creative submissions, the CAF will be publishing regular features, as well as themed quarterly issues. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to keep updated and find out more!
