As the guitarist with the Swiss folk band Sláinte, Barbara performed around Zurich to much acclaim. Barbara immediately captures the hearts of her audience with her accomplished guitar playing and with her very personal, unmistakable singing.

Sad news from Armagh. Condolences to Brian, the whole Vallely family and everyone at the Armagh Pipers Club. She leaves a legacy of music and musicians behind her.

It is with great sorrow that we share the news that Armagh Pipers Club's Director of Music, Eithne Vallely, has died at the age of 81. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to her husband Brian and their family. Eithne brought music into the lives of children for six decades. Her enormous contribution to Irish traditional music was recognised nationally with many awards and honours.

Eithne will be waked at her home, 14 Victoria Street, from 1pm to 8pm on Sunday and Monday. Funeral in St Patrick's Cathedral on Tuesday at 1pm. No flowers please; donations to the Air Ambulance.
