Cambridgeshire Community Foundation

Cambridgeshire Community Foundation We identify the needs of our community,
raise funds and award grants to local charitable causes.

Cambridgeshire Community Foundation helps donors (including local people, families, companies, national and local government, and other charities) to learn about and support local charitable causes that are of interest to them. We enable donations both big and small to reach local charities and good causes that are working to improve the quality of life for local people. We are working to help add

ress both needs that exist in our local communities today, and the needs of tomorrow through building endowed funds that create a sustainable source of grant making into the future

By building our understanding of needs, the support and trust of donors and voluntary and community groups, and ensuring the impact of our work is communicated, we aim to develop our role as a community catalyst and convener. We are therefore a type of charitable trust working in Cambridgeshire as a grant-maker, endowment builder and community leader.

🎉 We're proud to celebrate an exciting milestone with Tees, whose Better Future Fund has now awarded more than £100,000 in grants to charities and community organisations across Cambridgeshire, Essex and Hertfordshire.

These grants have created opportunities, improved wellbeing and strengthened connections, all helping to create better futures for local people.

It has been incredibly inspiring to see the firm's deep-rooted commitment to supporting local communities. Tees has engaged employees at every level in shaping that impact, from fundraising to deciding where the funds go in the areas where they live and work.

We're really proud of what this partnership has achieved and excited about the difference it will continue to make in the years ahead 💛

We're looking for new Trustees, including a Chair of Trustees.

These roles sit at the heart of what we do. You’ll support and shape our work and strategic direction to ensure that we are providing the best possible support to our community and the non-profit organisations across our county. The vacancies have come up as our current Chair and some Trustees reach the end of their terms of tenure.

For the Chair, we're looking for someone with senior leadership experience - as a CEO, senior manager, Chair or NED, or in an equivalent role - along with strong governance experience, strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities, and the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

For the Trustee role, we're after strong independent judgement, good communication skills, and experience of committee work. You'll need to understand and accept the legal responsibilities of trusteeship, and bring a genuine commitment to the vision, mission, and values of the Foundation.

No charity background is required for either role - but a passion for our work, and a desire to build a stronger, fairer and better Cambridgeshire for all is vital.

We can’t wait to hear what you could bring to the Foundation.

Full details and how to apply can be found on our website: www.cambscf.org.uk/volunteer/

🎉 £40 million 🎉

That's how much we have now awarded in grants to support local communities since we were founded in 2004.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate this milestone, and we want to extend a huge thank you to all our incredible supporters, partners, staff, trustees, volunteers and community organisations who have worked with us over the past 22 years to turn local generosity into lasting impact.

Together, we have supported over 3,000 organisations across Cambridgeshire, helping strengthen communities, respond to pressing local needs and improve quality of life.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey - we couldn’t have done it without you 💛

Also, thank you to CCLA Investment Management for making our team celebration event possible this week, and to our kind hosts at PEM, whose garden provided the perfect setting for it.

We're celebrating 10 years of Viv! 🎉

Our Deputy CEO Vivienne Atkinson joined us a decade ago this month - and she's been a driving force in our growth ever since, helping take us from around 240 grant applications a year and £1-1.5 million awarded, to almost 1,000 applications and £3.5 million in grants annually today.

Thank you, Viv, for everything you bring to this team. Here's to the next ten years!

We recently visited Cambridge Sports Lake Trust at Milton Country Park - a chance to see first-hand how a recent Cambridgeshire Community Foundation grant is being put to work.

The Trust received a £14,999 grant from the Warwick & Dominey Fund's Decarbonisation strand to purchase and install 70 solar panels on the roof of the park's large south-facing café building, reducing reliance on grid-supplied power and cutting greenhouse gas emissions on site.

As the Trust put it in their application, the project isn't just about energy - it's about keeping the park financially sustainable so they can continue to provide this open green space for all of their visitors into the future.

A great example of decarbonisation and community benefit going hand in hand.

The Warwick and Dominey Fund's decarbonisation strand awards up to £15,000 to projects replacing fossil fuel systems with locally generated renewable energy. More info on the fund can be found at: www.cambscf.org.uk/funds/warwick-dominey-decarb/

Last Thursday, our Grants Manager Sara Marshall headed to Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service to meet local voluntary and community organisations face to face, talking through the funding opportunities available through Cambridgeshire Community Foundation and how to apply.

Attending Meet the Funder sessions like this are one of the ways we try to make the grants process feel a little less daunting. Getting into the room with people, answering questions directly, and making sure organisations know what's available to them.

If you're based in Peterborough (or indeed any other part of the county) and want to find out whether your organisation could be eligible for a grant, it's always worth a conversation.

Thank you to PCVS for inviting us along!
