Villiers Park Educational Trust

Villiers Park Educational Trust Our vision is a world in which everyone can realise and fulfil their potential and lead society into an equitable, healthy future.

Villiers Park is a national social mobility charity delivering programmes that help young people aged 11 to 19 from under-represented backgrounds to develop their personal and employability skills and raise academic outcomes. The Future Leaders Programme supports young people aged 14-19 from under-represented backgrounds to plan pathways to their ambitions, and develop the behaviours, skills and k

nowledge they need to reach their potential. The Programme does this by supporting Future Leaders to develop a greater range of "possible selves" through new opportunities and experiences. Achieving success and overcoming challenges helps nurture self-belief, making desired options seem realistic and attainable. Our unique four-year programme combines coaching, subject-specific courses and student-led projects, enabling Future Leaders to map out what they need to achieve their goals and make informed education, career and life choices.

A huge well done to all the students collecting their GCSE results today!

We know that results day, although exciting, can be a nervous time. We hope that you achieve everything that you have worked so hard for, however, sometimes plans have to change. If this is the case for any Future Leaders, Villiers Park is here to support you, should you need it.

We looking forward to seeing our Future Leaders in a few weeks and celebrating their successes 👏

Up in Tyneside, our Future Leaders have worked hard to complete a fantastic range of Leadership Challenge projects this year!

From exploring whether under-16s should have access to social media, to organising a sports event for Year 6 pupils and delivering presentations on animal welfare and the uses, risks and ethical implications of AI.

These projects have given students the opportunity to explore topics they care about, share their knowledge with others and develop valuable skills along the way.

We’re incredibly proud of the initiative and commitment they’ve shown!

Huge congratulations to all young people receiving their today — we’re celebrating with you!

At Villiers Park, results matter, but they’re only part of the story. We’re as proud of the confidence built, the risks taken, the resilience shown and the moments where students stepped beyond what felt comfortable to discover what they’re capable of.

From trying new subjects to exploring future pathways, our students have embraced experiences that have broadened their horizons and shaped who they’re becoming.

As one student reflected: “I feel more open minded to taking on opportunities and as to where my path might lead in the future.”

Congratulations to all our students — on your achievements, your growth, and the exciting paths ahead 👏

Happy Book Lovers Day!

In the our Future Leaders and colleagues have been going and encouraging a love of books and reading.

One Year 9 Future Leader in Cambridge created an interactive Book Board, now proudly displayed in an English classroom, to inspire Year 7 and Year 8 students to read for pleasure.

Meanwhile, another team of Future Leaders in Norwich ran a Year 7 Book Club, featuring bookmark making, a short story competition and free books which they’d collected from local charity shops to help make reading more accessible for everyone.

We also have some bookworms in our team at Villiers Park who have shared their top recommendations for summer reading ☀️📖

Our Future Leaders showed fantastic resilience and teamwork as they brought the Sierra Leone Friendship Link to life at their school’s Careers Day. From creating quizzes and posters to engaging confidently with students, they demonstrated curiosity, leadership, and real purpose 🌍✨

Staff Spotlight: Meet Josie!

After attending a Villiers Park residential in 2018, Josie was inspired to pursue her dream of studying Biology. Today, she supports young people across Cambridgeshire, helping them build confidence, develop leadership skills and realise their potential.

Outside of work Josie enjoys comedy gigs, paint-by-numbers, walks with her black labrador Dougie 👣🐕
