In June, International Scholars Programme alumnus Diego dy Carlos and a group of five Brazilian scholars visited Tyndale House and Institute for two weeks of research and strategic planning. Together, these six scholars represent five seminaries, influencing nearly 2,000 students across Brazil.

This was the second annual visit from a delegation of the Academia Brasileira de Estudos Bíblicos (Brazilian Academy of Biblical Studies), a fellowship of Evangelical Biblical Scholars in Brazil, and we look forward to welcoming them back next year.

How do you build a new library without putting scholarship on hold?

For more than 80 years, Tyndale House has welcomed Bible scholars from around the world. When construction began on the new library, the goal was clear: keep the research going.

That meant relocating 60,000 books into a temporary library, converting apartments into study space, and ensuring room for 40 scholars to continue their work. Today, scholars from Brazil, Egypt, Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, and beyond are still researching side by side—even if they occasionally find themselves watching the construction from the common room! Because advancing biblical scholarship for the glory of God cannot wait!
