Introducing Kiln Cambridge member Tal Weissbrod
An organic chemist by day and potter by night, I have been practising pottery as a hobby for five years now, focusing on wheel-thrown tableware, home decor and occasionally lab accessories.

It’s been a year and a half since I started my membership at Kiln, and from show to show, while displaying all of my work, I can clearly see how being independent at such a welcoming studio has helped shape me as a potter.
Apologies to my friends and family who stopped getting pots I didn’t like, | just like everything I make now and love seeing strangers pick them up at the show!

Congratulations to Kiln Cambridge member Sue Roberts who has been awarded Pot of the Month for ‘Man with Broken Crown’.
Every month a revolving group of members select a piece from a list of nominated and submitted works.
The unrefined simplicity of African forms remains an element in Sue’s hand built work - pots with head stopper and little bird sculptures. Most recently, Sue has taken the characters from the stoppers and started slab building free standing busts of different characters. Sue’s work will be on display this weekend

Introducing Kiln Cambridge member Rosie Burnell Rosie loves anything floral and often combines her passion for the garden with her pottery. She has recently been exploring how a traditional vase form factor can evolve when the flower is dry, due to the different requirements of the display. Her work will be on display kiln Cambridge this weekend.

Introducing Kiln Cambridge member .thepotter
This year Cathie has turned up the colour for some dopamine hits of intense glaze colours and multilayer firing. She is also debuting some pieces incorporating weaving and basketry with stoneware clay. The mix of media is part inspiration from her upbringing and part exploration of new paths.

Introducing Kiln Cambridge member Jennie Kimbley
Jennie’s work develops from her observations of different states of being, such as longing, hope, joy, feeling stuck. The Brick is the beginning of a body of work developing from research into early childhood and the foundations laid during these formative years.
Jennie will be showing her work in progress; her evolving process of making, exploring, reflecting, and researching.

Introducing Kiln Cambridge member .whitworth A member at Kiln for two years, in 2026 Chris has been continuing to explore collapsed forms, and the way different surface techniques interact with them. Pieces are wheel-thrown and altered, in buff and porcelain clay, with poured glazes, hakeme slip, and raw clay surfaces.
