WINNER OF SEPTEMBER’S POT OF THE MONTH.

Chris’s collection of vases.
The panel loved the tactile quality of these pieces, which sit so pleasingly in the hand. There is a lovely simplicity and warmth to the forms, particularly when seen as a group. The subtle splash of colour inside each pot provides a beautiful surprise and complements the understated exterior perfectly. A wonderfully considered collection of pots that are both tactile and beautiful.

Out of the Kiln returns next week as David Parr House welcomes back members and staff from Kiln Cambridge for another pop-up ceramics showcase, celebrating the work of local potters.

Over two weeks, explore beautifully crafted ceramics by 14 Kiln Cambridge makers, each offering their own response to form, function and clay. Buy directly from the potters and learn more about the ideas and processes behind each piece. From functional tableware to sculptural forms, this is a wonderful opportunity to find some unique pieces and support local craftspeople.

12-15 August, 10am-5pm

19-22 August, 10am-5pm
Hazel Driver, Jeanette Friggebo, Randella Handley, Jennie Kimbley, Antony Mauder, Emma Parkes and Julia Webb.

David Parr House is an ordinary Cambridge terraced house with an extraordinary Arts and Crafts hand-painted interior. It was home to the Victorian working-class artist David Parr and his family for over 125 years, and can be found at 184-186 Gwydir St, Cambridge CB1 2LW.

Last Open Studio day today 10 - 6pm. A warm welcome and refreshments. Unique work from 30+ potters – pieces ranging from the refined to the rustic, and from domestic ware to sculpture. We will also be selling ceramics in aid of local charities.

Introducing Kiln Cambridge member Tal Weissbrod
An organic chemist by day and potter by night, I have been practising pottery as a hobby for five years now, focusing on wheel-thrown tableware, home decor and occasionally lab accessories.

It’s been a year and a half since I started my membership at Kiln, and from show to show, while displaying all of my work, I can clearly see how being independent at such a welcoming studio has helped shape me as a potter.
Apologies to my friends and family who stopped getting pots I didn’t like, | just like everything I make now and love seeing strangers pick them up at the show!
Please join us for our Summer Open Studio Exhibition and Sale kilncambridge.
