The Whitworth Trust is a registered charity, formed to provide support for vulnerable, homeless young women in Cambridge. The objects of the Charity are the relief of poverty; more particularly amongst women normally resident in the City and County of Cambridge, who need:
i) supported residential accommodation for young women such as that provided by Whitworth House
ii) other assistance and supp

ort in finding and securing secure and affordable accommodation. Whitworth House -- a hostel whose residents we were originally set up to support -- was officially opened in Cambridge in 1998. It currently accommodates 13 women, aged from 16-25 years. It provides a supporting, environment for the residents, enabling them to undertake training and qualifications and work towards independence. All of the residents are able to stay in the House for up to two years. In addition to our support of Whitworth House, The Whitworth Trust also works alongside local agencies like Jimmy's, and Hope Cambridge, in order to provide emergency and supported accommodation for women in the city.

Most young women arrive at Whitworth House without the essentials. With your help we can give them a warm welcome with a pack of linen, towels, duvets and pillows so they can set up their new home at Whitworth.

We do the hard work, purchasing quality, affordable items. But we need £75 per pack. (We can't accept donations of items themselves.)

Could you fundraise with your group to make a real difference to vulnerable young women in Cambridge? Why not get together and hold a pyjama party, bake sale or a sponsored activity?

Tell us when you've reached the sum and donate online. We are so looking forward to hearing from you!

The Whitworth Trust

The Whitworth Trust is a small registered charity, formed to provide support for vulnerable, homeless young women in Cambridge. The Trust takes its name from its association with Whitworth House, a hostel which provides accommodation for vulnerable, homeless young women in Cambridge. Whitworth House was officially opened 20 years ago, in May 1998, and is currently home to 13 residents, all aged between 16 and 25. It currently accommodates 13 women, aged from 16-25 years. It provides a supporting, family environment for the residents, enabling them to undertake training and qualifications and work towards independence. All of the residents are able to stay in the House for up to two years.

The Trust provides support to the hostel and its young residents, but it also raises money to help vulnerable and homeless women in Cambridge more generally, including women of any stage of life, with children or without. To this end we work alongside local agencies including Jimmy's, Cambridge Central Aid, and Hope Cambridge, in order to provide emergency and supported accommodation for women in the city.

We are currently looking for people with fundraising experience to join our small committee of volunteers. We are also always glad for donations of any size! Donation details are available here : https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/8545#/DonationDetails and you can find out more about our events and activities via our website: www.friendsofwhitworthhouse.org
