The welcome at Maggie’s goes beyond the support we offer. It’s down to the kindness of businesses in the local community who fundraise, donate and volunteer their time to us.

We’re honoured to work with AstraZeneca as their Cambridge Charity of Choice and at a recent volunteering day held at The DISC, their teams put together care packages for us to give to the people visiting our centre.

This act of kindness has already been so well received, reminding us that the smallest of gestures can make a difference.

A huge thank you to the teams at AstraZeneca for all you’re doing to support us. 🧡

“Coming to Maggie’s has changed my life and my family’s lives. It really has and I know that because they tell me.”

James came to us for support when he was diagnosed with mouth cancer for the second time, 15 years after his first diagnosis. Meeting other men at the men’s support group meant that our centres fast became a place that helped James ‘piece himself together’, allowing him to be the husband, the dad and the grandad that he always wanted to be.

“The Maggie’s men’s group is where I can open-up and bare my soul. Sometimes I might have a tough week because what I’ve been through can play on my mind, but I know I will always leave Maggie’s feeling better.”

To read James’ full story and help us be there for more people with cancer, visit:

https://www.maggies.org/james/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=spring_appeal_2026&utm_content=jamesvideo

Come and join our Men's Support Group, we meet on the third Tuesday of every month from 9.45 to 11am.
