on the last conference of there were a paralel stream where peer discussion of other theme also happening. There were one that talk abaout how shape our world hence our words.
the main questions were whether a construct exist when even the words (or in the linguistic - the label of the construct) exist. it is siniliar discussion first questions with the study of semiotic, the systematic symbol system in human culture, what said the “main difference and the only reason human become a human”:
i think its interesting discussion, as i think explains flawlessly. in generative syntax, a concept did not not exist just because there is no label on it. the construct which had not always label as one word can be described in many way, in which case he called an “attributes” or in the variant of which we nowdays use as the base of our programming of as a variable, a describing words mostly from adjective and or adverbials describing a concept. Only when all the attributes explained and fathomed, or variable(s) stated and excecuted, then the construct grasped, with or without label, in a human brain or in the ai brain.
so the issues of cultural differences as questioned in the stream and directly asked to me, which i said that it had always able to be explained or bridges through explanation of variable or attributes or description to finally realised that the entire world of a person is via the system of symbol called language they learned from their society, what had not experienced or exist in a language (such as phenomena of fatamorgana, or tsunami, etc) doesnt always exist to other cumture/society and only in the overlapping cultures/languages that such construct can be transfered.
As chomsky said, by the end of the day generative syntax is to simplifying the complexisty of human languages as an evolution of human and humanities and the goal is reach when its function (as a medum of communication or transfering knowledges) is served.
while theory of chomsky explained the changes in a short period of time in ways of nearly the oposite of what current trend was in way of using languages in specific purposes, his theory of explained the rule of thumbs of most if not all languages of the world in simple way which easier for multilanguages brains to understand.
when Noam Chomsky wrote General Syntax, he might didnt think how AI in our life nowdays, neither einsten with the nuclear bomb and nuclear power plant.
Labelisation is good for learning about human construct, but not as good to learn about human.
