Our Cambridge Day Opportunities customers still have a few Easter eggs kindly donated by the National Trust at Anglesey Abbey, so the Thursday morning cooking group decided to get creative!

They melted them down and transformed them into homemade chocolates. Lucia, Mavis, Val and Sofia were all very pleased with the results.

Sofia couldn’t wait to wrap hers up to take home and share with her family… maybe 🍫

Our Day Opportunities customers have been busy getting creative and making posters for Essex County Council’s Learning Disabilities and Autism Festival, where Papworth Trust will proudly have a stall.

There will be a fantastic range of services to explore, a LD’s Got Talent show, and lots of fun activities for visitors to enjoy.

In celebration of National Bike Week, Routeways to Work and OWL Bikes attended an event at 50-60 Station Road Cambridge, hosted by Cushman & Wakefield. Routeways to Work participants and staff members in situ. The were joined by Cambridgeshire Police providing security bike tagging and Flit Bikes which are designed and manufactured in Cambridge. "It made my day to see my picture on the back of the bus" said Chris, a customer at our South Cambridgeshire Day Opportunities.

Yesterday we had a day to remember as Whippet buses and Papworth Trust united in a 'back of the bus' partnership. For the next 2 years, the bus will be travelling in, and around, Cambridge helping to raise awareness of the Trust's vital work across the region.

Thank you to everyone involved at Whippet buses for making this dream a reality!

Customers at Basildon Day Opportunities had a exciting visit from Cat and John from South Essex Police. They taught everyone about staying safe online and how to contact emergency services. They even had the chance to sit in the police car and turn the lights and sirens on and off, which everyone loved.

Our housing service is aiming high 🏠 We want to be ambitious, and we want to provide the very best housing service we can. Our latest results show the journey we’ve been on — and the journey we’re still on.

One of our key priorities is delivering a responsive repairs service that tenants can rely on, and we’re proud of the progress we’re making:

97% of responsive repairs completed on time between January – March 2026
↔️ same as previous quarter
Our target is 95%

9 out of 10 (91.1%) of repairs were fixed right first time
⬆️up from 90% last period
Our target is 90%

This is real improvement, driven by the hard work of our teams and our commitment to doing better every day. We’re not stopping here — we’ll keep pushing to deliver the service our tenants deserve.

At Cambridge Day Opportunities all our customers had a chance to show our great volunteers just how much they appreciate all the hard work they do. Harriet has been attending as a customer at Ipswich Day Opportunities for quite some time, however she also has some volunteering duties where she ensures all customers and staff have a birthday card and will also support with onboarding new members of staff and welcoming them to Papworth Trust.
