Ensembl

Ensembl Ensembl is a database of genomic data based at the EMBL-EBI. Our data and tools are open access and open source, available all over the world.

We also offer training worldwide. Ensembl provides high quality analysis and annotation of mainly vertebrate genomes. Over 60 species are supported at the freely accessible web browser at www.ensembl.org and underlying databases. In addition to human and mouse, Ensembl supports zebrafish, rat, cow, and other genomes. A sister project (Ensembl genomes, www.ensemblgenomes.org) extends to plants, pro

tists, fungi, bacteria and metazoa. Annotation includes gene sets, sequence variation, comparative analyses involving whole genome alignments and homologies, and regions predicted to be involved in gene regulation.
