Our Voice Cambridgeshire Our Voice currently supports adults (18 or over) who are D/deaf, hard of hearing or Deafblind in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Advocacy is about enabling people to have a REAL SAY in what happens in their lives. Not everyone can express their needs easily - this is where an ADVOCATE can help. Advocacy aims to give people the skills and confidence to make informed choices and the power to make their voices heard. What sort of problems could Our Voice support you with? Conflicts, disputes and problems with:
-Housing
-Benefi

-Employment
-Discrimination
-Health
-Police
-Courts
-Family issues
-Financial issues
-Complaints
-Social Care meetings
-Issues with your care/support you recieve
-Education
-Accessing services

The Advocate will support you to solve a problem and ensure you know your rights. Our Voice will ensure your view is heard and you understand the situation and know your choices. The Advocacy Charter "Advocacy is taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain the services they need. Advocates and Advocacy Schemes work in partnership with the people they support and take their side. Advocacy promotes social inclusion, equality and social justice."
