October is a special month in the Repair Cafe calendar because:

⚒ On Sat 17th it's International Repair Day across the globe (last year there were 3000 events across 50 countries!)

⚒ There are eleven Repair Cafes happening across Cambridgeshire

⚒ It's 'Bring a Buddy Month' where repairers are asked to invite along a friend to see what it's all about and consider becoming a repairer. Maybe you know a repairer you could ask to buddy for an afternoon? If you don't know anyone but would like to visit a local Repair Cafe and see if your skills and passion would be great match, please email [email protected] and we'll try to connect you.

Upcoming Cafes are listed on CCF's website: https://cambridgecarbonfootprint.org/what-you-can-do/events/

What a special day - many have told us that they left CCF's 'Supercharging Local Climate Action Conference' on Saturday feeling more connected, informed and hopeful (& v well fed!).
Huge thanks to the attendees and contributors from an incredible 50 different groups and organisations who came from across Peterborough, S Cambs, City, Fenland, Huntingdon and E Cambs.
It was a privilege to be in your company and hear the buzz as passionate folk drawn from faith, climate, nature, local & national government, arts, architecture, green, community and growing groups shared stories, experiences and pathways to building thriving communities that can live within planetary boundaries. 💚💚
Thank you to The Network for Social Change and South Cambs Zero Carbon Communities for helping make this happen.

SusCott committee members Simon and Vicky attended the fantastic 'Supercharging Local Climate Action Conference' organised by Cambridge Carbon Footprint yesterday. As well as being a chance to network with other brilliant groups and organisations working for the same benefits it was laser-focussed on helping local eco groups like us to be more effective, so we've come away with lots of ideas. Must also mention the delicious food by Arjuna Wholefoods - we were very well fed!
