Alex took on the ultimate challenge to raise money for the hospital that treated her wonderful Dad, completing a tandem skydive in May and raising £1,162 for Addenbrooke's. 🙏
"Towards the end of Dad's life, when he was in ICU, communicating became incredibly challenging. That's where myICUvoice came in. This amazing iPad app literally gave Dad his voice back. It allowed him to talk to the incredible doctors and nurses who cared for him, ensuring his wishes were understood and his comfort prioritised. But, more than that, it allowed him to continue to talk with us, his family and friends. Those conversations and moments of connection, were so important and enhanced his quality of life."
Thank you, Alex! Your incredible feat will have a long-lasting impact at Addenbrooke's, supporting more incredible innovations like myICUvoice. What a powerful reminder of the direct impact fundraising like this will have on patients at Addenbrooke's, helping to support them through some of their most vulnerable moments. 🫶
This app, which was initially developed with the help of a £40,000 development grant funded by our supporters, features easy-to-use touch screen technology, which allows patients to tap on simple icons to respond to questions, allowing vital communication and connection when they need it most. 💙
