Cambridge Tech and Society (CT&S) is a student-run society set up to explore the effects on individuals, society, and politics of developing technologies and their applications. We focus on how those technological developments can be deployed to secure and further social justice and democracy, on local, national, and international scales. Our events and research are aimed at a wide audience and we

seek to engage with a range of thought leaders from across society, rather than only technical experts. Our society takes its impetus from students, with a special focus on reaching millennials and Generation Z, who are both most likely to be affected by recent technological developments.

In this event, we'll be splitting into 3-4 groups and each will be assigned to one AI chatbot.

Each group will start with the same question, promoting the LLM to 'imagine' you're on a first date together. The question, of course, will have an ethical dimension to it.

Each group will have an allocated amount of time to chat, and at the end, we'll discuss how the dates went 👀🙈

Feel free to dress to impress (not that the AI will notice), and we'll have some decs to maintain the Valentine's Day spirit 💃🏽❣️💌

Have you noticed that news stories and marketing material about AI are typically illustrated with clichéd and misleading images - like humanoid robots, glowing brains, outstretched robot hands, blue backgrounds, and the Terminator?! 🤖🧠

Better Images of AI is a voluntary organisation that offer an alternative image repository to challenge these stereotypes.

Last year, BIoAI launched a Stewardship programme which invites volunteers to help manage the image library and better connect with artists!

We're having a second induction call with Tania Duarte to invite more people to join our wonderful steward community.

Dr Benn is Assistant Professor at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence and Course Leader for the MPhil in Ethics of AI, Data and Algorithms.
