🏕️ Adventure is still on the map!

Living with a urostomy doesn't mean giving up your love of the outdoors. Whether it's pitching a tent, touring in a campervan, or exploring in a caravan, camping is still very much possible – it just takes a little extra planning.

In our latest article, urostomate Ruth Taylor shares how just three and a half months after surgery, she took her first overnight trip in her microcamper and hasn't looked back since. She's sharing her top tips for camping with confidence, from choosing accessible campsites to carrying a discreet change kit.

Plus, we've got advice on preparing your supplies, staying hydrated on the go, and building your confidence one trip at a time.

"My urostomy doesn't define me."

Retired urologist, Hugh, knew exactly what blood in his urine meant. What followed was a bladder cancer diagnosis, a urostomy, further surgery - and a journey from struggling to walk around the park to skiing down the French Alps.

Even as a doctor, Hugh admits he had it wrong: "Before my operation, I was far more worried about the stoma than I needed to be... I imagined it would have a huge impact on my lifestyle. It hasn’t."

Read Hugh's honest, inspiring story of surgery, setbacks, Parkrun, and getting back to his beloved skiing 👇

💙 Hugh credits the Urostomy Association with helping him along the way - and he's not alone. We're here for you too, whatever stage of your journey you're at.
