We are deeply saddened to read this story.
Once again, we see a tragic pattern that feels all too familiar — where a child’s life is lost, and what follows is a system that too often fails the victim and protects the perpetrator. A mix of incompetence, bias, and a lack of accountability continues to deny families the justice they deserve.
This is heartbreakingly similar to what happened to Louis.
No family should have to fight so hard to be heard. No child’s life should be diminished by process failures or unequal treatment.
At the Louis Thorold Foundation, we will continue to campaign for a system that puts victims first — one that is fair, transparent, and truly accountable.
Because every child matters. And every loss must lead to change.
