Camcycle - Cambridge Cycling Campaign

82% of respondents to the recent consultation on Riverside in Cambridge (part of the Bottisham Greenway) supported or strongly supported the Greater Cambridge Partnership proposals, which were developed following close engagement with local people including Riverside Area Residents Association, Camcycle and Cambridge Living Streets. They will transform the street for pedestrians, as well as adding new improvements for cycling, and more public space.

Today at the GCP Joint Assembly, we supported the increased investment proposed to deliver this section of the scheme, along with the rest of the Bottisham Greenway. We also called for this level of positive engagement with residents on the rest of the Greenways network.

Funding is due to be approved at the GCP Executive Board next month.

Thank you to the member of the public who called in a bicycle theft happening in King Street on Friday.

Officers searched the area and arrested a man on suspicion of theft and going equipped.

We are hoping to reunite this bicycle with its rightful owner. If this is yours and you have proof of ownership then please get in touch online or via 101 quoting 35/78685/26.

For a visually impaired rider, cycling with a sighted pilot on a tandem can provide access to freedom and independence. A new campaign from British Cycling is calling on the Government to formally recognise tandems as adaptive bicycles for certified visually impaired riders and make them VAT-exempt (as other cycles such as handcycles and trikes can be).
