Did you know you could get FREE household appliance through LEAP?

❄️ And with winter approaching, seasonal appliances such as dehumidifiers and heated airers are now available again!

Green Energy Switch is encouraging residents to find out what free support they could receive through LEAP.

Through the LEAP Appliance Scheme, eligible households could receive a free replacement for an old, inefficient or broken appliance, helping to reduce energy use and household costs. ⚡

Appliances available through the scheme include:
💚 Fridge freezers
💚 Air fryers
💚 Slow cookers
💚 Heated airers (winter only)
💚 Dehumidifiers (winter only)

So, how can residents access the scheme?

The first step is to apply for a FREE LEAP home energy visit. During the visit, an advisor will look at the household's energy needs, provide practical advice and check what additional support they may be eligible for, including appliance replacements.

Please note that appliances are subject to eligibility, availability and scheme criteria, with a maximum of one replacement appliance per household.

YES Energy Solutions will be joining us at the Abbey Food Hub to offer free, friendly energy advice and support.

They can provide advice on reducing energy bills, Government funding for insulation and renewable technologies, the Priority Services Register and other support that may be available. Eligible residents can also access free carbon monoxide alarms and other support.

There’s no appointment needed, so just stop by the YES Energy Solutions table during the Food Hub session.

We see this regularly...

Universal Credit should be enough to live on.

Every day, at our centres up and down the country, we see how difficult it can be when people are trying to make their money stretch to cover the essentials – food, household bills, clothing and essential travel.

Universal Credit has never been set according to what these things actually cost. The result is that, when people face a period of unemployment, illness or another change in circumstances, the support they receive may simply not be enough to cover the basics.

That’s why we’re supporting the Guarantee Our Essentials campaign, calling for Universal Credit to be based on the real cost of essential living.

Everyone should have enough to afford the essentials.

Across London and the South East, too many people are struggling with debt without access to local, face-to-face support. That's why we're looking to grow the CMA network in communities where the need is greatest.

We're particularly interested in hearing from churches and organisations in:
• Canterbury
• Maidstone
• Chelmsford
• Harlow
• Stevenage
• Crawley
• Several areas across London

You don't need to be a debt expert to get started. If your church has a heart for serving the local community, CMA will provide the training, resources, ongoing support and a network of experienced centres to help you every step of the way.
