We're proud to be partnering with Abbey in Cambridge 🤝

Thanks to your generous donations, we're now providing culturally appropriate food to their Abbey Food Hub, so locals in need can get food that actually fits their culture and everyday life.

Also known as Barnwell Basket, it’s open to everyone in the community, offering surplus and donated food including fresh fruit and vegetables, bakery items, and more.

Abbey People does amazing work in the Abbey ward in Cambridge, running projects that support health and wellbeing, help families and young people thrive, improve access to good food and training, and bring people together through a wide range of events.

The Abbey Food Hub runs on Mondays from 1-2.30pm, Wednesdays from 3.30-5.30pm, and Saturdays from 11am-12pm, at the East Barnwell Community Centre on Newmarket Road.

This South Asian Heritage Month, we share the story of the man who inspired our mission 💚🧡

70 years ago, Abdul Karim arrived in Britain from Sylhet, Bangladesh – overcoming early hardship alongside his siblings to build a life dedicated to helping others in Cambridge.

Today, the Karim Foundation proudly carries that legacy forward by providing urgent food and fuel support to the most vulnerable in our community.

Join us tomorrow at the Central Library, Cambridge to discover how we’re supporting refugees and vulnerable families across the city, and how we can all help to make Cambridge a welcoming place for everyone.

This is a free event and open to all. No booking required.
