Finalists! 🏅

We're delighted to have been selected as one of five finalists for the Cinnamon Network UK incubator programme 2026 🙌

Along with four other fantastic, faith-based, initiatives, we'll be pitching for support and funding to scale-up our work to other parts of the UK 🇬🇧

In particular, we're exploring opportunities to develop our highly impactful mentoring programme for care-experienced and estranged students to other university towns and cities 📍

If you are interested to find out more, or would like to come and support us on the night, please contact: [email protected] / 07881926728 🌹

👀 New mentors 🙌

With the start of a new term University of Cambridge we recently trained a new cohort of volunteer mentors 📚

We're looking forward to being able to support even more care-experienced and estranged students this academic year, helping them to thrive at university 🌱

Thanks so much to long term friends and supporters Mill for once again hosting the day 🫶

Moving a young person into their own flat is always a highlight (despite the heavy lifting!) 💪

Thanks to gifts from a host's family this young person moved in with a sofa, fridge freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster, microwave and a cooker! (And yes it was upstairs!) 😅

Huge thanks to Ben Zion Landscapes Ltd who once again supplied the much needed van to make the move possible 🚐

Now time for a bath to soak the joints... 🛁!

Uni days 🎓

This September we've racked up over 1,300 miles taking young people to University!🚙

This includes:
🔵 Three young people starting university for the first time (one in Plymouth!)
🔵 One young person returning to university in Nottingham
🔵 One young person starting a post-graduate MA in York
🔵 And one young person starting a 'year abroad' in Vienna (although Ryan Air covered most of the miles in this case) ✈️

This has been an amazing privilege and shows the difference a supportive and nurturing environment can make to work and study 🙌

If you have a spare room and a heart to support a young person in need of a stable home please contact mike: [email protected] / 07881926728 🌹

Thank you Ashley John-Baptiste and Clare Chamberlain for your hard-work and dedication to shine a spotlight on care leaver deaths at, no doubt, some personal cost 🙏

May it be a wake up call for change ⏰

Thanks so much to Cambridge Storage Solutions who will be providing our young people with a free storage option moving forward 🙌

This may seem like a simple offer but not having anywhere to store belongings can be a huge obstacle to making progress 🚧

As an example, one of our young people is planning to take part in a year-abroad as a part of her university course but a major stumbling block was where to store her stuff when she was away 🤷‍♂️

This very generous decision by Dean and the team will make this life-changing experience possible 👏

If you need a storage container in/around Cambridge please do get in touch with Dean on: Tel: 07535 529131 / [email protected] ✉

It's a great location too! Just of the A14 in Milton 😀

Thank you so much 🙏
