⚠️ Housing dilemma ⚠️

We are in desperate need of a housing option for a young person in Peterborough 🆘

This could be a spare room or a more independent living space such as an annex 🛌

The young person is an 18 year old female care-leaver; currently at college and doing well 📈

Great to be with you Cambridge & District Youth for Christ 👊

We're delighted the training was well received 🙏

This was definitely one of the best breakfast spreads we've seen! 🥓🧇👀😂

On Saturday, Ange hosted a 'Trauma Informed Youth Work' training session for 29 local youth workers, parents and young leaders in St Neots. The training, led by Mike Farrington from Concrete Rose Collective CIC was really well received.

People were encouraged in their work and pleased to hear much of their practice is already working along the right lines as well as gaining lots of new information and ideas to continue improving. A couple of attendees went away wanting to re-prioritise building healthy meaningful relationships in their youth spaces. We are passionate that every young person is able to discover fulness of life in Jesus, which is why training like this is so important.

We're looking for a move-on options for young people ready to leave supported lodgings 👀

These could be independent flats, annexes or simply rooms without the added need for support for young people who are ready to live independently 🪽

This could be a great, and safe way, to rent a room or space with young people who are well known to us and continued support from Concrete Rose 🤝

🎶Beautiful music for a beautiful cause🎶

Thanks so much to James Williams, Pete Smith and Hannah Beynon the wonderful (but yet to be named) musical trio who across two concerts raised over £600 towards the work of Concrete Rose 🙌

Support like this is not only vital to our ongoing work but is also hugely encouraging 🙏

Move-in day 🙌🙌

Over the weekend we moved another young person into a safe, loving, and nurturing supported lodgings arrangement with a host family 🙌

No prizes for guessing that the young person is a huge Watford FC fan! 😂

Supported lodgings is transformative for care leavers, young people in abusive home environments and care leavers 🌱

"Seriously beautiful music for a seriously beautiful cause" 🎶

This Saturday an esteemed local chamber group, headed by James Williams, will be playing a recital of Blake, Brahms and Ireland @ St Vigor's Fulbourn 🎹🎻

Why not come along? Admission is free but there will be a retiring collection for Concrete Rose 🙌🌹

James explains the reason for wanting to support our work 💬: "Only after I had reached my late 20s did I really wake up to how much I had depended (and still do!) on family and friends and church community for support and encouragement in almost everything I've done, big or small. How amazing that Concrete Rose is here to give support, encouragement, mentoring and more to young people whose lives and relationships have been disrupted. What a privilege it is to be able to make a contribution to this great work." 🙏

This quote from psychologist Bruce Perry is particularly pertinent given today is Maundy Thursday - 'Maundy' originates from the Latin 'mandatum' (commandment), referring to Jesus' command to love one another.
