Free Outdoor Cinema Returns to Cambridge this August 13th - 16th!

Cambridge BID's popular Screens in the City outdoor cinema is back this August, bringing four days of free family-friendly film screenings to two unique city centre locations.

The big screen will return to the train station at CB1, Station Road next to the Clayton Hotel, audiences can relax and enjoy this enclosed oasis in the city centre.

For the first time we are proud to partner with the University of Cambridge at its Downing Site, so that audiences can relax and enjoy this enclosed oasis in the city centre.

Meet the team!

Jenny Granshaw - Head of Projects & Development

As Head of Projects & Development, Jenny oversees the Cambridge Arts Festival, Christmas Lights scheme, Screens in the City (Wimbledon and free outdoor films), and our Grant Pot for city events and festivals. She also leads on activity in Station Road targeted at the office sector, including seasonal Parklets and Summer in the Square, our live music series.

She grew up in London but has called Cambridge home for 6.5 years and is raising 2 children in the city – a reason to be invested in creating projects and activations that really benefit Cambridge and make it a better place to live and work in.

“For me, a BID's role is to listen to businesses, bring the right people together, spot opportunities, and help turn ideas into reality. By building strong relationships and seeing the city from different perspectives, we can make some great things happen. It’s no surprise that some of the best ideas come from local businesses (the King Street Mural being my favourite example from 2026) as business owners are passionate, creative and knowledgeable about their field.
