Helen Hames – Director of Destination & Delivery

As Director of Destination & Delivery, Helen oversees project delivery for Cambridge BID with specific responsibility for the projects that are delivered under the Visit Cambridge brand.

Helen is passionate about Cambridge and the BID Industry, having spent nearly 20 years delivering projects in Cambridge that aim to make a difference to city centre businesses. Earlier this year Helen was responsible for bringing the ‘In Bloom’ installation to Station Square in CB1 as part of the Cambridge Arts Festival, extending the Festival footprint and reinforcing the BID’s placemaking approach.

More recently Helen’s focus on Visit Cambridge project delivery has led to her leading on the development of the Visit Cambridge Business Partnership Scheme which was launched last year and continues to grow in membership.

Helen leads on the delivery of our Travel Trade Activity – showcasing Cambridge Businesses to domestic and international audiences to drive overnight stays in Cambridge at times where capacity exists. Regularly attending Travel Trade Events representing Cambridge, Helen is building relationships locally and nationally with partners like Meet Cambridge, the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority, Visit England and UKInbound. With responsibility for Visit Cambridge Press & PR activity and FAM trips Helen spends time using her knowledge of Cambridge to curate itineraries that showcase our destination across our four main marketing pillars with a focus on profiling Cambridge as an overnight destination.

Actively encouraging others to explore, cherish and stay in Cambridge will always be fundamental to the work of Cambridge BID and Helen enjoys finding new stories to tell that highlight why Cambridge should always be the destination of choice.
