What a day !

Our last 2 performances of the year on the same day.

To see young children embrace sign language and join in was beautiful, what little stars they were !!! 🌟

We had the pleasure of supporting 2 charities this evening at The shaft Inn they raised an incredible amount for Scotty's little Soldiers and Children's Hospice Southwest.

That's it for this year , we'll be back in the new year.

Tonight the choir were invited to the Victor Roderick Lodge on behalf of the West Cornwall Province to be presented with a cheque totalling Β£750 to help the choir continue their travels performing songs around Cornwall.

It was only fair that the Choir performed their first ever song to the members to show just what we are about. Afterwards, we stayed for a chat and found out what they were about also.

The R.A.O.B are one of a kind, putting charities at the heart of all they do. We are forever grateful they chose us.

We have welcomed new people in to the choir, practising different songs

What a little GEM ! No hesitation in getting stuck in for videoing . I'll be busy editing this week.

While most choirs will hear the improvements over time from practise. The BSL Choir will SEE the improvements over time.

Well, what a fantastic start for our first session back . New faces, new song.

And a lovely surprise from the Camborne Freemasons who came along and presented the choir with a cheque for Β£250 . So appreciated as we continue our journey spreading Deaf awareness.

2 days to go !!

Yesterday the choir met up for an event once again where we performed together again at Hall For Cornwall.

Without the original request from HFC earlier in the year to put together a performance of some kind. The choir would not have been set up when it was, Helen, Jade, Anna and Matt have been so supportive, much RESPECT to the HFC team!

Firstly, it was an exciting project where I was focused on the end result, a show. But over time it has become so much more.

It became

β€’ a safe space
β€’ a community
β€’ a family
β€’ a place to talk
β€’ a place to learn BSL

We have met some wonderful people along the way while out and about performing at various events over the summer.

Monday will mark the start of new songs, new people, new friendships

A group of 19 originally set out with just 1 song "Cornwall My Home" signed in BSL. Group consists of both Deaf and Hearing, all levels of BSL. The Choir is Deaf Led.

Weekly sessions in Camborne. Translating songs into BSL. Performing at events to raise awareness, connecting with the Cornish Communities.

From September we will be learning a variety of songs. Song lists and videos will be sent out for practising at home in your own time too, and of course, make lifelong friends β™‘

Whether you are a complete novice to BSL or a Pro, we will guide you and encourage.
