Within TR14ers there are Dance Leaders. These are young people who have emer
ged through dedication and passion and who host peer led Workshops every week. At the start the Dance Leaders were empowered by Ben Dunks (Dr Theatre link) to raise their self confidence and learn the skills needed to choreograph and teach their routines to the members. In the present day the Leaders are trained by SEan Chilman (Aa previous TR14ers member and Leader, who is now a fully qualified Instructor) and Becci Gowers (Founder and Director of Dance Confidence Cornwall and original member of Flava from Britains Got Talent). The Dance Leaders have direct ownership of the project as they consult with the members and feedback to the Board of Trustees their aspirations and wishes to ensure the TR14ers is led by the membership. The TR14ers has in excess of 120 members aged between 5 - 18 years and on average 60 attend free Street and Hip Hop dance workshops every week. Workshops, Gigs and Dance
We hold Dance Workshops for young people aged between 5yrs and 18yrs every Friday evening at Wesley Chapel, Camborne, from 4.30pm - 6.30pm, as well as a full day every half term and school holidays. At the Dance Workshops the Mentors and Dance Leaders teach the members new routines that they have choreographed at their weekly training sessions. They also practice routines that they already know and have a Dance-Factor and Showcase from invited guests to round off the day……..Excellent Fun!!! We get invited to showcase our routines at loads of different community events, conferences and forums and we also give private tuition classes.
